Job Description:
The Manager, HR Strategic Projects leads the planning, governance, and execution of strategic Human Resources initiatives that advance organizational priorities and enterprise transformation efforts. This role partners with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, business leaders, project teams, and external partners to ensure successful delivery of high-impact programs and projects.
The Manager provides strategic oversight across the HR project portfolio, establishes HR project management standards and practices, supports executive decision-making, and ensures alignment between project outcomes and business objectives. The role develops project management capability, drives accountability, and strengthens execution across Human Resources.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Projects Leadership
Lead the HR Strategic Projects portfolio and ensure alignment with HR and organizational priorities.
Partner with HR leadership to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and establish governance.
Evaluate requests and determine scope, risks, dependencies, timelines, and resource requirements.
Monitor portfolio performance and alignment with business objectives.
Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, organizational effectiveness, and outcomes.
Project Governance & Execution
Establish and maintain project management methodologies, tools, standards, and best practices.
Oversee multiple complex projects and programs and serve as project manager for assigned strategic initiatives.
Ensure projects are scoped, documented, governed, and managed throughout the lifecycle.
Oversee plans, budgets, timelines, milestones, risks, issues, and decisions.
Provide executive leaders and stakeholders visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes.
Escalate critical issues and facilitate cross-functional decision-making.
Organizational Change & Business Readiness
Partner with Change Management, Communications, and Learning teams to support implementation and adoption.
Incorporate people impacts, stakeholder needs, and readiness considerations into project planning.
Monitor adoption, implementation, and stakeholder-engagement risks.
Support transition from implementation to sustained business operations.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
Improve project management processes, governance, and operating procedures.
Drive standardization and consistency across the HR project portfolio.
Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting that increase performance visibility.
Use lessons learned and project outcomes to improve future execution.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Seven or more years of project, program, or strategic-initiative management experience, including complex cross-functional projects.
Experience leading enterprise-wide HR, business transformation, technology, or organizational change initiatives.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance practices, and stakeholder management.
Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and drive alignment in a matrixed environment.
Experience using data and metrics to support decisions and project outcomes.
