Role

As the Manager, Grid & Electrical Engineering, you will lead the electrical engineering scope for onshore wind and renewable energy projects in Japan. The role focuses on strengthening in-house EPC capabilities by delivering high-quality electrical design, grid integration, and project execution support.

You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, while contributing technical expertise across development and construction phases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead detailed electrical design for wind and renewable projects, including grid connection, substations, and cable systems.
  • Manage high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage system engineering and integration.
  • Develop engineering drawings and layouts using AutoCAD, including single-line diagrams, cable routes, and layouts.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and SCADA during project execution.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including government authorities, utility companies, and contractors through meetings and technical discussions.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical assessments to ensure compliance with safety and design standards.
  • Provide technical input for project evaluation, budgeting, and development decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements across all activities.
  • Optimize team workload and support delivery of high-quality engineering outputs.

Pre-requisites

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in EPC projects, preferably in onshore wind projects in Japan.
  • Strong experience in grid and electrical engineering within renewable energy projects.
  • Solid knowledge of extra-high, high, and medium voltage systems, grid connection, substation design, and electrical construction practices.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and electrical engineering documentation.
  • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, written and verbal.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
