Marc Jacobs International, driven by the visionary leadership of Marc Jacobs, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graphic Design Manager to be on our Creative Services team based in our New York City (SoHo) headquarters. They will help define, evolve, and execute the brand’s visual systems across digital, motion, and emerging platforms. This role is ideal for a designer with exceptional taste, strong point of view, and deep curiosity about culture, art, and technology, someone who thinks in systems, not just assets.
This is a hands-on role for a designer who can move fluidly between concept, craft, and execution, bringing modern tools (including AI) into the creative process to push the brand forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position sits at the intersection of design, art direction, motion, and experimentation. You are someone who has clear opinions about color, typography, composition, rhythm, and storytelling — and who knows how to translate those opinions into work that feels current, expressive, and distinctly Marc Jacobs.
You are not here to maintain the status quo.
You are here to help shape how the brand looks, moves, and communicates in a video-first, culture-driven world.
Visual Design & Systems
  • Contribute to the evolution of Marc Jacobs’ visual language across digital, motion, and print.
  • Design and execute visual systems that are flexible, recognizable, and scalable across platforms.
  • Bring a strong point of view to color, typography, layout, and composition.
Digital, Motion & Content

  • Create and evolve email designs that balance brand expression with clarity and performance.
  • Develop editorial and campaign assets that support new collections, launches, and brand narratives.
  • Design and animate motion assets including video edits, GIFs, animations, and experimental formats.
  • Create digital media assets for paid social, programmatic, and brand campaigns with a strong storytelling lens.
Innovation & Tools
  • Actively explore and apply AI-powered creative tools and emerging technologies to ideation, design, animation, and workflow optimization.
  • Experiment with new visual formats, tools, and approaches that push the brand forward creatively.
  • Stay deeply engaged with design, art, fashion, culture, and media — translating inspiration into relevant, modern work.
Collaboration & Craft
  • Work closely with creative, marketing, e-commerce, and product partners to deliver cohesive, thoughtful creative.
  • Receive and integrate creative direction with confidence, craft, and flexibility.
  • Maintain a high standard of execution, detail, and finish across all work.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6–9+ years of experience in graphic design, visual design, or art direction.
  • A strong, digital-first portfolio demonstrating exceptional aesthetic judgment, concept-driven thinking, and fluency across static and motion.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects); comfort with animation and video is essential.
  • Experience experimenting with or integrating AI and emerging creative tools into design workflows.
  • A clear and confident point of view on color, typography, layout, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong cultural curiosity across fashion, art, design, music, and contemporary culture.
  • Experience in luxury, contemporary fashion, or culturally driven brands is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, move quickly, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Open, curious, and collaborative mindset with a desire to continuously evolve creatively.
  • A genuine understanding of — and excitement for — the Marc Jacobs brand.
