The Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing, IT is responsible for executing sourcing activities for an assigned set of IT sub-categories in connection with the cross-brand procurement of information technology related products and services including Hardware, Software, Telecommunication Services, and Professional Services. This position independently manages renewals, statements of work, order forms and mid-size agreements, and supports the Sr. Manager and Director on enterprise-level negotiations. The role works on a daily basis with technology vendors and with technology professionals from all Carnival Corporation IT departments (including the operating companies), and must be able to balance competing operating company requirements toward a holistic solution. This position contributes to annual savings and cost-avoidance targets, applies established category strategy rather than setting it, and is a key owner of contract lifecycle execution, data integrity and policy compliance across the assigned portfolio.

 

Essential Functions:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Execute sourcing events for assigned IT sub-categories and contribute to category strategy, Buyer Business Plans and the Sourcing Calendar pipeline under the direction of the Sr. Manager/Director, in accordance with established Carnival Sourcing processes and the 7-Step methodology.

  • Serve as day-to-day sourcing point of contact for assigned IT stakeholders across brands and corporate service areas, managing demand intake, timelines and status

Negotiations & Supplier Evaluation

  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms for renewals, statements of work, order forms and mid-size SaaS/subscription and cloud agreements; prepare positions, redlines and negotiation packages to support Sr. Manager/Director-led enterprise and AI/GenAI negotiations.

  • Prepare and issue RFQs/RFIs/RFPs, build bid comparison and total-cost models, and conduct market/price benchmarking using third-party intelligence sources. Evaluate suppliers and analyze bids based on such criteria as cost, quality and capability. Communication.

Contract Lifecycle & Compliance Management

  • Own end-to-end contract lifecycle execution and policy compliance for the assigned portfolio — intake via ServiceNow, Contract Authorization Form and approval-threshold routing, and record integrity in GovernX/Coupa/Ariba, per the global Sourcing, Procurement & Supply Chain Policy.

  • Coordinate third-party risk and compliance reviews with Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, AI governance, Insurance and Tax, and track items to closure prior to execution.

Spend Analytics & Financial Reporting

  • Maintain spend visibility, analytics and reporting for the assigned portfolio — renewal calendars, contract trackers, savings logs and dashboards used for leadership reporting.

  • Track and document in-year savings and cost-avoidance results, prepare supporting calculations, and submit for Finance validation against annual targets.

Supplier Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Support supplier relationship and performance management — maintain scorecards, prepare QBR materials, and flag redundant or overlapping tools for rationalization.

  • Apply AI/automation tools within sourcing operations and provide day-to-day work direction and quality review to Analyst and contractor resources on assigned events.

  • Scope: Manages sourcing activities for assigned IT sub-categories, including strategic sourcing events, contract lifecycle management, supplier performance oversight, spend analytics, stakeholder engagement, and compliance activities across brands and corporate service areas.

  • Problem-solving: Resolves day-to-day sourcing, supplier, contract, pricing, and compliance challenges through market analysis, supplier evaluation, negotiation support, risk coordination, and adherence to established sourcing methodologies and policies.

  • Impact: Contributes to organizational cost savings, cost avoidance, compliance, operational efficiency, and business continuity through effective sourcing execution, contract management, spend visibility, and supplier management.

  • Leadership: Provides day-to-day guidance and quality review for Analyst and contractor resources, serves as a trusted sourcing partner to stakeholders, and collaborates cross-functionally to support successful sourcing, risk management, and supplier performance outcomes.

Essential/Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT Related (Cloud/Cybersecurity/Network/Connectivity) or Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related discipline/major.

  • CPM certification or equivalent is desirable. Equivalent certifications include CIPS, CPSM, and ITIL or Software Asset Management (SAM) credentials. Candidates working toward certification will be considered.

  • Ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships.

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to build bid comparisons and total-cost models and present findings clearly.

  • Solid project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent contracts.

  • Ability to interface confidently with business stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Working understanding of Information Technology ecosystems and products.

  • Ability to negotiate commercial terms on renewals, SOWs and mid-size agreements with guidance on enterprise-level deals.

  • Working knowledge of technology contract terms and conditions, enterprise software licensing and SaaS/subscription commercial models (per-user, consumption, and hybrid constructs).

  • Awareness of AI/GenAI contracting considerations, including data usage rights, IP and indemnity and internal AI governance review.

  • Working knowledge of data privacy (DPA), cybersecurity and third-party risk requirements in technology agreements.

  • Exposure to category management fundamentals, including spend segmentation, supplier tiering and total cost of ownership.

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple brands and jurisdictions.

  • Advanced Excel required; Power BI familiarity preferred for spend, savings and renewal analytics.

  • Occasional time-zone flexibility to support brands and corporate service areas, including CCL, PCL, HAL/Seabourn, Costa, AIDA and Carnival UK (West Coast, UK, Germany and Italy).

  • Hybrid on-site presence at the Miami corporate campus is expected in accordance with the corporate workplace policy.

 

Essential experience required:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years related experience, or Master's or other Advanced Degree plus 3-5 years related experience.

  • Experience in sourcing/purchasing, preferably in a complex or multi-entity environment.

  • Familiarity with one or more IT-related disciplines: Cloud, Cybersecurity, Network, Hardware, Connectivity, etc.

  • Experience executing sourcing events within a structured methodology (e.g. 7-Step sourcing methodology).

  • Hands-on experience with Sourcing/Procurement systems.

  • Proficiency with source-to-pay and contract lifecycle management tooling (e.g. GovernX, Coupa, SAP Ariba) and ServiceNow-based intake.

  • Exposure to market intelligence platforms (e.g. Beroe, Gartner/ISG, Green Cabbage).

  • Practical use of Microsoft 365 Copilot and other GenAI tools applied to sourcing and contracting workflows.

 

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

 

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
