Job Description

As Manager, Global Internal Communications, you will drive global internal communications with a focus on P&O initiatives to engage employees, reinforce culture, and support strategic priorities. 

As part of the Corporate Communications global team, the internal communications team aims to inform, inspire, and engage all Sandoz employees, from shopfloor workers to people managers, to the most senior leaders and everyone in between. Always thinking about what will add value to Sandoz employees, the team aims to consistently seek to better understand all audiences, enabling effective targeting and segmentation of topics that matter with timely delivery, all while becoming more diverse – more global – in the communications the team delivers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • This role works in close alignment with other senior members of the Global Internal Communications team, to collaborate with P&O experts on best-in-class communications plans to effectively share new employee programs, initiatives, and reinforce the Sandoz culture.
  • This role requires expertise in engaging employee communications as well as the fast-evolving world of human resources for large, global pharmaceutical companies.
  • Communications strategy and planning for major P&O programs
  • Together with senior members of the team, create tailored, dedicated communications plans for global P&O initiatives including: Culture & Inclusion, OurShare (employee free share program), OurVoice (bi-annual employee sentiment survey), and more
  • Create engaging content, in collaboration with P&O colleagues as well as Global Corporate Communications colleagues, and beyond
  • Execute publishing across multiple channels
  • Collect data and metrics to report on impact. Analyse data and recommend actions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to report on success and areas for improvement
  • Support functional P&O communications to ensure consistency with global internal communications branding and standards
  • Global internal communications content creation
  • Beyond P&O topics, create informative and engaging content for all employees based on company newsflow
  • Channel strategy: newsflow, events, and publishing
  • Support the regular review of global internal communications channel mix
  • Support regular global internal communications publishing for all audiences (all employees, people managers, senior leaders, shopfloor workers)
  • Contribute to regular editorial and newsflow discussions, to bring valuable content to the right audience, at the right time, in the right format
  • Support the creation and execution of engaging live events, for global audiences

What you need to bring to the role:

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in Communications, Business or related area
  • Proficient English; other languages a plus (German, Spanish, Slovenian, etc.)
  • Preferred five years of professional experience in a communications role within a major corporation or public relations agency, at least two years in internal communications or human resources
  • Previous experience in internal communications for human resources topics, program, and initiatives is a plus, as well as experience with communicating around culture and inclusion (diversity, equity, and inclusion)
  • Experience with digital communication tools and analytics platforms.
  • Also a plus is experience in executive communications and thought leadership
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, ability to balance priorities and to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with team, committed to create “Best-in-class” communications content
  • Proactive self-starter and strategic thinker with a hands-on approach
  • Experience with internal digital platforms (e.g., Sharepoint-based intranet, mass email tools, Viva Engage)
  • Familiarity with metrics and impact reporting to evaluate communication effectiveness
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural and diverse international matrix organization
  • Willing to travel occasionally, as required
