This position will be an integral part of our ambitious global environmental, health and safety team, which serves as a resource to teams in our regions and global functions.
JOB PURPOSE:
The lead candidate will develop and deploy health and safety programs focused on reinforcing positive behaviors, developing safety leadership skills, and creating a safety-first culture.
The Manager, Global Health & Safety, is part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that brings together individuals with a wide range of experiences in Environmental, Health and Safety. This challenging role requires good business knowledge, behavioral change expertise, knowledge of global health and safety standards, and best practices. This role plays an important part in establishing safety champions across our diverse organization. In addition, providing support to operations around the world through leadership development, and will be integral to our success.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage visible felt leadership training programs for site and regional managers to promote a world-class safety program rooted in ownership, accountability, and operator empowerment.
  • Manage the deployment of a Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention strategy.
  • Create tools and resources to engage with site operators and frontline employees, fostering a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Lead global culture surveys to assess safety perceptions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership teams to embed safety principles into organizational values and behaviors.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of a global health and safety recognition program.
  • Coordinate the deployment of a comprehensive global safety communication strategy.


SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL SHOW:

  • Demonstrated history of driving change in safety culture within a large, global organization, with a focus on leadership training and engagement.
  • Knowledge and experience working with data to drive decision-making in behavior-based initiatives, including conducting culture surveys, analyzing results, and deploying actionable solutions.
  • Strong awareness of data, global benchmarks, and best practices to use in developing behavior-based initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build compelling narratives with data to drive the adoption of safety initiatives.
  • Ability to frame and complete high-level business cases to support the development of Behavior-based safety programs.
  • Have a proactive, action-oriented attitude, committed to delivering results and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to promote a safety-conscious work environment.
  • Ability to engage in training and development activities to support safety initiatives.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational psychology, safety, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Project Management: Experience in defining and shaping agendas, managing stakeholders, and driving projects to completion.
  • Change Management: Comfortable working with stakeholders across various levels of the organization to implement safety programs.
  • Data Design and Analysis: Proficient in analyzing data to inform safety culture decisions and translating business needs into actionable insights for implementation.
  • Digital Skills: Familiarity with safety management software and tools, proficiency in data analysis tools, and experience in an agile environment.
  • Must possess a valid passport or be willing to obtain one, with the ability to travel internationally as needed (approximately 30% travel).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license or be willing to obtain one.
  • This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role that has the flexibility to sit out of any of our corporate offices or manufacturing sites globally.
