Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager General Manufacturing I for it’s Business Unit, Armament Systems located in Plymouth, MNArmament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance.

Responsibilities of this role:

Lead a team of Engineering Technicians within the Operations department.  This General Manufacturing Manager role supports the Northrop Grumman Armament System PGK programs.

Specific responsibilities and desired experience include:

  • Effectively lead a diverse team of Engineering Technicians in a dynamic product production environment.

  • Set and promote high standards for quality and safety.

  • Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation.

  • Partner with engineering and program management peers to assure a balanced and efficient assignment of resources to support the PGK program and achievement in key performance metrics

  • Drive Team technical excellence in Production. 

  • Balance PGK group workload and staffing requirements to meet current and future program needs. 

  • Coach direct reports in the areas of career development, performance, and teamwork.   Provide training and development opportunities.  Provide continual feedback and hold quarterly connections.

Basic Qualifications 

  • We are emphasizing skills for this role.  Position requires 7 years of experience.  Will consider 3 years of w/ a BS degree of 1 year experience w/ a MS degree in an Engineering Discipline.

  • 2+ years of project, program, or people leadership experience

  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral

  • Experience working in manufacturing environment 

  • Ability to solve problems and drive continuous improvements

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Must be a US Citizen and able to acquire a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree

  • Strong general knowledge in manufacturing methods and processes

  • IPC J-STD-001 Certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,400.00 - $143,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
