Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead resource planning and coordination with internal customers to understand priorities and influence direction.
    • Serve as project sponsor for congestion management initiatives, articulating drivers of outcomes and ensuring strong team involvement.
    • Provide technology and thought leadership that enables scalable, modern solutions across Market Administration.
    • Oversee execution of team responsibilities, including engineering support, cross-departmental representation, application modernization, data-driven proof-of-concepts, and PowerGem software coordination.
    • Establish and track departmental goals aligned with organizational strategy.
    • Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts to ensure effective use of resources.
    • Hire, coach, and develop team members; provide ongoing feedback and performance management.
    • Create individualized development plans that support both organizational needs and employee career growth.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience.
    • Demonstrated people leadership experience with the ability to influence across teams and levels.
    • Strong background in energy industry market operations (highly preferred).
    • Experience coordinating across software development teams and external vendors.
    • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority; experience serving as project sponsor.
    • Understanding of energy market concepts, software architecture, and fundamentals of generation, transmission, and distribution.
    • Knowledge of NERC and FERC regulatory compliance.
    • Skill in budgeting, forecasting, coaching, and mentoring.

Key Projects and Impact Areas
This role directly shapes the technological evolution of Market Administration—including enabling AI-driven analytics, leading efforts like MSE, Order 881, Order 2222, and improving Market Funding Efficiency outcomes. You’ll help set the vision for the Forward Market Solutions team and build the capabilities needed to support modern, predictive, and scalable market tools.

Within the first year, success will be measured by your ability to:
• Understand the core business areas supported by the FMS team.
• Build strong relationships with cross-functional leaders and product teams.
• Align the FMS portfolio with strategic objectives that modernize tools, enhance analytics, and support

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $162,000-187,000 USD annually.  Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience. 

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.  At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
