Manager, FIU Typology Investigations & Strategic Analysis plays a key leadership role within the Financial Intelligence Unit, driving the identification, investigation, and mitigation of financial crime risks across a diverse portfolio of products and services. This role combines people leadership, investigative expertise, and strategic risk management to strengthen the organization's AML and financial crime compliance framework while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of investigators and financial crime professionals.
Oversee complex AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud, and financial crime investigations.
Manage the end-to-end investigation lifecycle, including case review, analysis, escalation, and regulatory reporting.
Review and approve investigation outcomes, risk assessments, and suspicious activity reports.
Identify emerging financial crime trends, typologies, and control weaknesses.
Provide expert guidance on financial crime risks across consumer, digital, payment, and commercial products.
Support the development and continuous enhancement of AML compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
Ensure adherence to AML/CTF regulations, sanctions requirements, and internal risk management standards.
Monitor team performance, productivity, quality, and service level objectives.
Deliver meaningful reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
Partner with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Product teams to strengthen the financial crime control framework.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in AML, financial crime investigations, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
3+ years of people leadership experience, including managing and developing teams.
Proven experience leading complex AML, sanctions, fraud, or financial crime investigations.
Strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, sanctions compliance, and financial crime risk management frameworks.
Experience within banking, fintech, payments, financial services, regulatory agencies, or similar environments.
Strong investigative, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Ability to assess complex risks and recommend practical, risk-based solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills in a global environment.
Experience using investigative and screening tools such as LexisNexis, World-Check, or similar platforms.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, or data visualization tools is an advantage.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.
ACAMS, CFCS, CAMS-FCI, CAMS-Audit, or similar industry certifications are highly desirable.
