The Fintech Commercial team is the glue between external Fintech partners (schemes, PSPs, issuers) and Agoda’s Finance department. We represent the business side of Agoda’s “Pay-in” (Consumer Payments) and “Pay-out” (Business payments) pillars within the Agoda Fintech ecosystem. Together with our Fintech partners and cross-functional stakeholders, we identify and implement payments optimization initiatives, launch new payment methods and drive Fintech innovation across Agoda.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a talented, results-oriented Manager, Fintech Commercial to join the Agoda finance team. You will have:
- Leverage your analytical skills to run analyses, enhance the data infrastructure in collaboration with our data teams and build business cases.
- Work with leading Fintech and payments companies on payments optimization initiatives on a global scale.
- Partner with cross-functional Agoda stakeholders: Product, Engineering, Data, Legal, Finance teams, Customer Services and more.
Successful candidates tend to have strong analytical and data skills and are self-starters who are comfortable working in environments defined by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. In addition, good performers in this role are organized, possess effective interpersonal skills and can successfully partner with cross functional teams in a result-oriented manner.
In this Role, you’ll get to:
- Analyze payment method cost and performance data sets to identify optimization opportunities
- Collaborate closely with Product and FinTech solutions on Fintech roadmaps, strategic planning and initiative prioritization
- Evaluate partnership opportunities with our Fintech partners in form of business cases to realize cost savings or create incremental revenue streams
- Become a subject matter expert for Pay-in topics across Agoda and fulfill ad-hoc Finance requests to educate stakeholders about payments deal economics
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 4-8 years of professional experience in fields like Analytics, Consulting, Strategy & Operations, Data Science or similar; experience in online or e-commerce business preferred
- 2+ years of experience in payments or Fintech, ideally on the merchant-side in a role that requires you to analyze payment performance as your day-to-day job
- Bachelor’s degree in any field as minimum requirement; MBA or master’s degree in business / finance / management preferred since strong business acumen is required in this role
- Strong numerical and analytical skills (e.g., running queries with SQL, building dashboards) with keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying and executing complex, data-driven strategies that resulted in measurable revenue growth and margin improvement
- Ability to effectively communicate proposals to potential partners and internal stakeholders
- Willingness to move quickly, adapt well to change, and thrive in dynamic environments; professional “get it done” attitude and strong work ethic
- Fluency in English is required
