THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong accounting professional to join our Controllership team. This role will be responsible for the consolidation process and in the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, and cash flows), ensuring the accuracy of key accounts and strengthening internal controls around reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a continuous-improvement mindset and comfort operating in a multi-entity or complex organizational structure.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement (P&L), and statement of cash flows
  • Ensure financial statements are accurate, complete, and compliant with GAAP/IFRS and internal policies
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation process across multiple entities/subsidiaries
  • Support preparation of management reporting packages and board/investor materials
  • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation as needed
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g., cash, intercompany, fixed assets, accruals) on a monthly basis
  • Ensure intercompany transactions, eliminations, and balances are accurately recorded and reconciled
  • Support currency translation and other consolidation adjustments as applicable

  • Reconcile equity accounts, including retained earnings, APIC, and other equity movements
  • Reconcile P&L accounts to identify, investigate, and resolve variances or discrepancies
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure timely clearing of reconciling items
  • Leverage technology (e.g., ERP systems, consolidation software, Power BI/Tableau, Power Query) to automate reporting and strengthen data integrity
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance analytics capabilities and support data-driven decision-making
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to reporting and controls.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA strongly preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including consolidation and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidations and general ledger accounting principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query); experience with BI reporting tools a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Prior public accounting experience a plus.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skills to perform analysis and reconcile key accounts
  • Problem-solving abilities to investigate reconciling items and collaborate with internal teams
  • Knowledge of accounting standards to ensure compliance with provisioning and write-offs
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Location: This role will be based in Norwalk, Connecticut. The position offers a hybrid arrangement, with an expected 4 days in office.
