The Position

Our company culture is one where teamwork, adaptability, continuous improvement, achievement of results, and willingness to grow are our core values.

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and coordination of multiple sets of financial statements and related reporting deliverables across Arevon’s renewable energy structure, including corporate entities, project companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures, tax equity structures, and other reporting groups as applicable. This role will help ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, complete, and prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, stakeholder requirements, and audit expectations.

The ideal candidate brings strong financial reporting, technical accounting, close, and audit support experience, with the ability to manage competing reporting timelines, work across complex ownership and financing structures, and support intermittent general accounting activities as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting, the Financial Reporting Manager will perform a wide range of financial reporting, accounting, and audit support duties as part of the broader Finance team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial Statement Reporting and Review:
    • Oversee the preparation and review of multiple sets of annual financial statements across Arevon’s renewable energy platform, including corporate, project-level, subsidiary, joint venture, tax equity, and other reporting structures as applicable.
    • Ensure financial statements, footnotes, supporting schedules, and reporting packages are accurate, complete, and prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, debt and tax equity requirements, and other stakeholder reporting obligations.
    • Manage reporting calendars, deliverables, and review processes to ensure timely completion of recurring and ad hoc financial reporting requirements.
  • Complex Entity and Renewable Energy Structure Oversight:
    • Support reporting across a complex legal entity structure, including project companies, holding companies, tax equity partnerships, financing structures, and intercompany relationships.
    • Coordinate with corporate accounting, project accounting, asset management, treasury, tax, legal, and finance teams to obtain reporting inputs and resolve entity-specific accounting or reporting matters.
    • Maintain an understanding of varying stakeholder requirements across entities, including lender, tax equity investor, joint venture, board, management, and audit reporting needs.
  • Close, General Accounting, and Reconciliations:
    • Perform intermittent general accounting functions as needed, including preparing or reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and other accounting analyses during close cycles or periods of increased workload.
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve reporting variances, unusual balances, intercompany differences, and other accounting matters impacting financial statement presentation.
    • Note: this is not the primary responsibility of this role, but may be needed intermittently.
  • Technical Accounting, Controls, and Process Improvement:
    • Assist with the design, execution, and documentation of financial reporting controls, including review procedures, tie-out controls, reconciliation standards, and reporting checklists.
    • Identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve financial reporting templates, processes, supporting workbooks, and review procedures.
  • Audit and Stakeholder Support:
    • Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to support financial statement audits, reviews, tie-outs, PBC requests, and follow-up inquiries.
    • Prepare and review audit support, financial statement support binders, reporting schedules, and documentation for significant accounting judgments or non-routine transactions.
    • Provide financial reporting support for management, board, investor, lender, and tax equity reporting requests as needed.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant accounting, financial reporting, audit, or technical accounting experience; public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, or auditing financial statements and related footnote disclosures under U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong experience working in a complex, multi-entity environment; renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, project finance, tax equity, or joint venture experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement presentation, consolidations, intercompany accounting, equity method investments, and close/reporting processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple sets of financial statements, competing deadlines, and detailed reporting deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to produce audit-ready workpapers and reporting packages.
  • Proven track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures, and collaborating cross-functionally with accounting, finance, tax, treasury, legal, asset management, and operations teams.
  • Experience with ERP and reporting systems; strong working knowledge of NetSuite or similar accounting systems preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
