This position manages, maintains, and completes reporting requirements relating to the Vizient clinical and operational databases used by VCUHS for benchmarking, budgeting and productivity analysis.
This role educates, trains and engages VCUHS operational leaders related to the Vizient operational and clinical databases. This position, in partnership with VCUHS Operations, will provide in-depth interpretation of VCUHS data as compared to similar organizations related to benchmarking and productivity analysis.
This position will serve as the designated subject matter expert (SME) for the Vizient software.

Essential Job Statements 

Performance Expectation: Supervision/Management/Education

Direct the collection and analysis of all financial and operational data to maintain the clinical and operational Vizient databases.

Ensures timely and accurate survey completion for all new and existing VCUHS surveys (Including Vizient)

Educate, encourage, and engage those operational leaders responsible for data submission for the Vizient clinical and operational databases.

With leaders, supports assigning and prioritizing responsibilities. Ensures accuracy and integrity of survey submissions.

Provides ongoing training and coaching to team members as needed.

Performance Expectation: Data Integrity

Reconciles financial survey submission to reported financial statements.

Partner with various financial and operation departments to retrieve required data.

Identify and document reports needed for survey completion from VCUHS systems of record using Workday, EPIC, Tableau and other sources as necessary.

Publish reports for financial and operational reference.

Serve as a resource for financial operational data analysis and interpretation.

Ensures compliance with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Effectively and proactively communicates with team members

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Demonstrates appropriate strategies for adapting to change and in helping self and team members adjust and embrace change both within the department and throughout VCUHS.

Employee demonstrates effective outcomes-focused communication techniques by setting clear expectations, coaching/counseling/mentoring team members, and dealing with conflict promptly and effectively. Keeps team members appropriately informed of issues.

Employee demonstrates teambuilding skills in setting goals by focusing on expected outcomes, by developing and motivating team members, by partnering and building relationships with team members and customers, and by balancing individual needs with team needs.

Performance Expectation: Miscellaneous Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department.

Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports

Demonstrates effective work behavior by maintaining accuracy in work quality, organizes work activities and sets priorities to achieve maximum efficiency, and completes assigned activities and assignments in a timely manner.

Aids team members.

Accepts alternate assignments, as required.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or closely related field

Preferred Education: Master’s Degree Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or closely related field

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressively more responsible supervisory/management positions. Minimum of five (5) years of previous work experience in accounting or finance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Previous work experience in financial and accounting software applications

Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. Prolonged periods of working alone.

Compensation Range

$83,096.00 - $128,772.80

Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
