We are seeking a highly capable Manager, Accounting & Tax to oversee accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance for our Japanese KK entities within a multinational environment.
This role ensures accurate and timely reporting under IFRS for group purposes, while managing statutory reporting and tax requirements under JGAAP and Japanese tax regulations (JTAX). 

You will lead closing processes, audits, and tax filings, and act as the key liaison between external advisors and internal stakeholders.

You will also play a critical role in aligning IFRS reporting with tax adjustments, managing intercompany service arrangements, and supporting business decisions through strong financial insight.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Closing

·        Lead monthly and year-end closing processes for KK entities

·        Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting to headquarters

·        Reconcile IFRS reporting with JGAAP statutory accounts

Audit Management

·        Act as the primary contact for external auditors

·        Coordinate audit planning, documentation, and issue resolution

Tax Compliance & Filing

·        Oversee corporate, local, and consumption tax filings

·        Coordinate with tax advisors and manage submission timelines

Tax Accounting

·        Manage JTAX-based adjustments and deferred tax assessments

·        Ensure alignment between financial reporting and tax computations

Business Partnering

·        Collaborate with FP&A, legal, investment, and commercial teams

·        Provide accounting and tax insights to support decision-making

Process Improvement & Controls

·        Strengthen finance policies, procedures, and internal controls

·        Drive efficiency and reduce operational and compliance risks

Budget Management

·        Prepare and manage budgets for accounting, audit, and tax activities

Intercompany Services

·        Manage intercompany service arrangements (KK to GK)

·        Oversee pricing, billing, and transfer pricing alignment

Audit, Tax & Due Diligence Support

·        Support audits, tax reviews, and due diligence processes

·        Provide clear and well-supported financial explanations

Ad-hoc Support

·        Deliver financial analysis and reporting as required by management

Pre-requisites

·        Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

·        CPA or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)

·        At least 7 years of relevant accounting experience

·        Experience with Japanese KK entities is advantageous

·        Background in audit, tax, and intercompany transactions

·        Exposure to multinational or regional finance environments

·        Strong knowledge of IFRS, JGAAP, and Japanese tax (JTAX)

·        Experience managing IFRS–JGAAP–JTAX differences

·        Understanding of transfer pricing and intercompany services

·        Strong communication (English and Japanese) and stakeholder management skills

·        Ability to work effectively across global teams

·        Proactive, detail-oriented, and team-focused
