WHAT WOULD YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Accounting & Bookkeeping -
- Verify and process bills, invoices, purchase/work orders, and all supporting documents from staff and vendors.
- Ensure all staff reimbursements are in line with organizational policies.
- Record daily financial transactions in Tally using appropriate cost centers.
- Maintain books of accounts with complete and accurate supporting documentation.
- Payments & Payroll -
- Process staff and vendor payments after necessary checks.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including statutory deductions and benefits.
- Generate payment requests in accordance with project budgets and grant agreements.
- Reconciliation -
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements in Tally.
- Maintain and reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and staff advances.
- Support the preparation and reconciliation of project activity budgets.
- Check and reconcile expense statements from field offices.
- Financial & Donor Reporting -
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports and cash flow statements for internal use and donors.
- Monitor expenditures against budget allocations and report discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of donor funding and grant compliance.
- Assist in reconciling donor contributions and maintaining related records.
- Statutory & Compliance -
- Prepare TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) reports, generate challans, make payments, and coordinate with the Chartered Accountant for filings.
- Prepare EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) reports for payment processing and compliance.
- Maintain and update employees' Income Tax deduction sheets for compliance and reporting.
- Prepare quarterly fund receipt reports to support statutory return filings.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Support internal, statutory, and donor audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.
- Coordination & Support -
- Respond to and resolve finance-related queries from field staff and teams.
- Maintain organized records of financial documentation, including statutory, donor, and internal files.
- Sign off on vouchers after thorough verification.
- Support process improvement initiatives within the finance department.
- Contribute to the overall success of the finance team by performing related tasks as required.
- Any other duties assigned to the finance department.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
- 3–5 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit/development sector.
- Proficiency in Tally & Excel, strong financial accuracy, knowledge of statutory compliance (TDS,
EPF, IT), and donor reporting.
- Organized, detail-focused, solution-oriented, and able to work independently while
collaborating across teams.
