Position SummaryJoin Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Semiconductor Business Unit Finance team as a Manager, Finance supporting our global Semiconductor Sales organization within the Electron Microscopy business. This is a Global Commercial Finance leadership role reporting to the Finance Director, Semiconductor Business Unit. The position serves as a key finance partner to the Vice President of Global Semiconductor Sales and collaborates closely with regional Sales leaders, FP&A, Accounting, and cross‑functional stakeholders worldwide.
The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, advanced analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed, global environment. This role requires a self‑starter who is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable influencing senior business partners through data‑driven insights.
Work Location & On‑Site RequirementThis position requires an on‑site presence at least four (4) days per week at our Hillsboro, Oregon location: US – Hillsboro, OR – 5350 NE Dawson Creek Drive.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead end‑to‑end FP&A activities for Semiconductor Sales Bookings, including forecasting, budgeting, long‑range planning, monthly business reviews, and reporting.
- Analyze financial performance against targets and key KPIs; communicate insights, risks, and opportunities to Sales and Finance leadership.
- Partner with regional commercial leaders to drive revenue growth, support deal reviews, and mitigate financial risks.
- Act as a trusted finance advisor to Sales leadership, supporting strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and commercial investments.
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights to inform decision‑making and drive execution across the Sales organization.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance forecasting accuracy, analytics, and reporting processes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and models using Thermo Fisher’s BI platforms and AI‑enabled tools to improve visibility and productivity.
- Drive alignment with regional FP&A, Accounting, and Commercial Finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting.
- Support standardization of processes and best practices across global teams.
- Support financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluations related to growth initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Provide analytical support for leadership requests and special projects as needed.
- 4–6 years of progressive finance experience, including experience in a matrixed, global organization
- Strong working knowledge of CRM and ERP / Planning systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Anaplan, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence across levels
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Data Science with relevant Finance/Accounting coursework
- Experience in Commercial Finance, Sales Finance, or Business Partnering roles
- Prior exposure to semiconductor, technology, or capital equipment industries
- Experience developing and using dashboards and reports in business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with AI‑driven tools to support data analysis, financial modeling, or workflow automation
Skills Required
- Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience in finance
- Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in finance
- Expertise in financial planning & analysis
- Strong finance skills and proven understanding of Excel
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
