Strategic & Financial Planning
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine financial strategies that support the company’s short-term operational goals and long-term growth objectives.
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing insights, analysis, and recommendations that inform key business decisions.
- Prepare detailed financial forecasts, scenario analyses, cost models, and feasibility studies to evaluate business opportunities such as new projects, partnerships, or service expansions.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Support capital planning, company structuring, and M&A assessments where applicable.
Financial Management & Operations
- Lead the end-to-end financial planning and analysis (FP&A) cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance tracking across all departments.
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful reporting to internal (CEO, management team) and external stakeholders (Board, investors, parent company).
- Manage cash flow and working capital effectively to ensure liquidity and operational sustainability.
- Oversee accounting operations, including month-end closing, journal entries, reconciliations, and expense management.
- Design and maintain dynamic financial models that assess business performance, evaluate project profitability, and guide decision-making.
- Continuously improve financial systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in line with startup growth.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), tax laws, and all relevant statutory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor strong internal control frameworks to protect company assets and ensure integrity in all financial reporting.
- Coordinate external audits and liaise closely with auditors to ensure transparency and smooth completion.
- Manage key external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies (e.g., LHDN, SSM, Bank Negara).
- Proactively identify potential financial, regulatory, or operational risks, and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Support the development of company policies and procedures that strengthen financial governance and operational accountability.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (professional certifications such as CPA/ACCA/MICPA are an advantage)
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A roles; prior experience in infrastructure, consulting, or advisory industries is an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, and financial reporting in Malaysia.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting tools, and ERP/accounting systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Skills Required
