A day in the life
Our SEC reporting team oversees the external reporting (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and 11-K) for Prologis, a large multi-billion dollar global Real Estate Investment Trust listed on the S&P 500. We present the financial results and operating metrics of our global business to external users such as investors, banks and our peers through our filings. As the Manager, External Reporting, you will play a key role in leading the global accounting, external reporting and compliance of a robust debt and derivative financial instruments portfolio. This includes the accurate and timely preparation of information for external reports, including the 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings, including public debt offerings. You will collaborate across Treasury, global accounting teams and external auditors to ensure appropriate technical accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP and IFRS, SOX controls and disclosures for complex debt structures, both consolidated and unconsolidated, along with hedge accounting for complicated derivative instruments used to manage interest rate and foreign currency exposure. We are looking for someone with a strong background in financial reporting, demonstrated leadership ability, analytical and communication skills, a desire to develop others and work in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly and quarterly preparation, reporting and analysis of global debt and derivatives, while reviewing the work of a third-party service provider and other accounting regions (Asia, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Brazil)
- Evaluate and conclude on potential, executed and extinguished debt and derivative transactions and related U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting impacts with Treasury, global accounting teams, third-party provider and external auditors
- Monitor debt and derivative activity on a global scale, including the timely completion of debt service payments and reviewing hedge designation memos
- Own monthly and quarterly analytics for global foreign currency and CTA
- Develop two seniors and review work for your areas
- Oversee the filing and coordination of global public debt offerings, including coordination with Treasury, Legal and external advisors
- Prepare and review quarterly debt and derivative disclosures in Form 10-K, 10-Q and supplemental
- Draft accounting memos, policies and perform technical research on U.S. GAAP or IFRS
- Hold a key role in the SOX controls program, including maintaining appropriate global debt and derivative controls
- Prepare and evaluate global net equity on a fair value and book basis
- Develop and implement enhancements to deliverables using EPM Freeform, SIGMA and Excel
- Support the external auditors during audits and interim reviews
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, minimum five years of public accounting or SEC reporting experience (minimum four years of public accounting). Debt and derivatives experience is a plus.
- CPA license required
- Extensive working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
- Strong understanding and experience with SOX required
- Ability to effectively set priorities, manage multiple tasks and reporting deadlines under pressure and produce a quality work product
- Proven leadership skills with a desire to develop and grow team members
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across multiple functional and business groups (oral and written)
- Demonstrated robust analytical, process improvement, organizational and problem-solving skills
- High level of detail orientation and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate processes and identify and implement process enhancements
- Strong initiative/demonstrates leadership in meetings and group events
- Strong aptitude for systems and technology that includes advanced proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of general ledger systems and reporting tools. EPM, PeopleSoft and SIGMA preferred.
Hiring Salary Range of: $110,000 - $152,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
