Job Description
As a Manager – EU Region, Global Product Standards and Regulations you will manage GPSR team members with a mission to support the regulatory and standards activities critical to Rockwell Automation's strategic programs in the EU. Exposure to regulatory and standards development work will occur within the context of international and regional organizations such as the IEC, ISO, Digital Europe, CEN, CENELEC, the European Commission, and other industry and technology consortia. The main functions will be:
- Develop a strategic roadmap to address the EU standards and regulatory landscape,
- Administrative and operational leadership of EU GPSR staff,
- Analyze EU regulatory and standards developments especially concerning market access,
- Communicate critical milestones, and requirements to relevant partners,
- Risk assessment and activity prioritization, and
- Resource allocation
You will report to the Senior Manager of Global Product Standards and Regulations and work with the Director, Technology and Innovation (T&I) to help develop an executable standards and regulations risk retirement strategy. The secondary activity will involve international and regional standards development activities determined by experience.
Organization Summary:
GPSR monitors and,, influences the development of domestic and international standards and regulations, communicates the relevant information to the internal stakeholders promptly, and partners with them to develop applicable goals designed to provide market access and mitigate impact to Rockwell Automation. GPSR is dedicated to serving as Rockwell Automation's primary recognized partner and resource for emerging local, regional, and international standards and regulations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage the EU based GPSR team. Provide leadership, support, and professional development for EU based staff.
- Develop a communications strategy to the internal stakeholders of important external activities in Product Standards, Product Regulations, and Product Compliance schemes that will impact their product offerings.
- Networks with internal stakeholders to implement the enterprise Standards, Regulatory, and Compliance strategy. Identifying which major external policy setting bodies will directly impact Rockwell Automation and which should be actively participated in.
- Identify key stakeholders within Rockwell Automation's departments to determine the importance and impact of the different standards and regulations on Rockwell Automation's products and business.
- Prioritize EU-based regulations and standards activities based on risk and impact to us.
- Participate in enterprise strategy discussions and communicate regularly as EU standards and Regulatory frameworks evolve to ensure progress, while being change champion
- Support participation on identified bodies and activities and coordinates activities with other regional Rockwell Automation participants and the internal business unit stakeholders.
- Research and monitors new and ongoing regulatory and standards development organizations, consortia, and relevant activities to communicate their relevance to Rockwell Automation's business and tasks.
- Track and documents activities with others who participate in standards to help ensure coverage and prevent overlap.
- Support Rockwell Automation Government Relations teams to assess and provide analysis of activities.
- Support standards development activities where required.
- Build and maintain professional contacts with other key organizations, business partners, and industry experts within and outside the company to identify areas of common interest.
- Conduct internal educational activities as appropriate. Develop informative materials and artifacts pertaining to relevant Standards and Regulations within the focus area or region.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Experience in People Management, Professional Development, and Mentorship
- 10+ years of experience working with technical and non-technical teams.
- 10+ years of experience delivering cross functional project results.
- Experience in EU regulatory or standards development within manufacturing automation or a related field is required.
- Risk Assessment and Risk Management methodology knowledge.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Business, Economics, Political Science, International Studies, or a related field.
- Experience working with EU-based government agencies or experience in regulatory or compliance / conformity activities is desirable.
- Understanding of the standards and regulations bodies and their processes.
- An understanding of standards, regulations, and the associated international and domestic organizations.
- Knowledge of Rockwell Automation's products and associated businesses.
- Knowledge industrial automation products and offerings.
- Multilingual foreign language abilities
