RubinBrown’s Entrepreneurial Services Group delivers a variety of accounting and consulting services to dynamic small to mid-sized businesses. We work directly with business owners to help them achieve their goals through all phases of business from start up, growth, and eventual exit. Services vary based on client needs, but can include accounting, compiled or reviewed financial statements, payroll and sales tax compliance and tax prep and planning.
We are seeking a Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in leading client engagements across a variety of industries, balancing responsibilities in both assurance (review and compilation) services and tax compliance / planning services. The ideal candidate is a proactive and relationship-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and enjoys mentoring others.
Major Responsibilities- Manage the engagement workflow of client deliverables for multiple clients in various industries
- Understand general accounting concepts and procedures
- Review work-papers and financial statements for review and compilation engagements
- Review accounting and month end close completed by either our team or client
- Review income tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals
- Serves as primary point of contact for direct communication and relationship with clients
- Develop into role of clients’ trusted advisor
- Plan and execute engagements effectively, adhering to RubinBrown Client Service Standards
- Supervise staff assigned to the engagement
- Identify and communicate accounting and tax matters to other engagement team members
- Identify and communicate performance improvement opportunities to staff
- Continually build technical expertise
- Assist in scoping and onboarding new clients
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree
- CPA required
- Prior public accounting experience preferred
- 5 - 7 + years of experience
- Prior income tax preparation, including partnerships, corporations and individuals is a plus
- Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology
- Excellent leadership capabilities
- Utilize analytical and research abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
- Strict adherence to professional ethics
- Ability to successfully contribute to the success of a strategic business unit of the firm
- Ability to stay organized and appropriately prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to meet challenging client requirements and provide quality client service
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Energetic, enthusiastic personality
- Willingness to take initiative
- The typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations.
- Travel for this position will be approximately 5% of the year.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout office.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 10-30 pounds.
- Ability to speak English to communicate with clients, team members, etc.
