What You’ll Do:

The Manager of Enterprise Lending Quality Control (QC) is responsible for leading the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the quality control framework across enterprise lending products, collaborating with partners as appropriate. This role ensures that lending activities comply with internal policies, operational procedures and regulatory requirements while driving consistency, accuracy, and operational excellence. Reporting to the Manager, Risk, Credit & Lending Operations, the QC Manager will oversee a team responsible for post funding reviews, defect identification, and root cause analysis across lending segments (e.g., commercial, small business, consumer).

Quality Control Program & Oversight

  • Design, implement, and maintain a risk-based enterprise lending QC framework aligned with regulatory expectations and internal risk appetite.

  • Establish and enforce policies, standards, defect classification, and sampling methodologies across lending products.

  • Ensure QC operates as an independent and credible control function, aligned with enterprise risk and oversight structures.

  • Serve as the primary QC liaison for internal audit, compliance, risk management, and regulatory reviews, ensuring readiness and strong outcomes.

  • Deliver clear, consistent governance reporting to leadership and committees, highlighting risk insights and control effectiveness.

QC Execution, Defect Management & Reporting: 

  • Oversee independent post-funding QC review execution, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to SLAs.

  • Validate compliance with credit policy, underwriting standards, regulatory requirements, documentation quality, lien perfection and loan boarding accuracy.

  • Establish and manage a structured defect identification and severity rating framework.

  • Lead root cause analysis to identify systemic issues and emerging risks across lending operations.

  • Oversee development of executive-level reporting and dashboards that track defect trends, performance, and remediation status.

  • Ensure timely escalation of material findings and transparency into control breakdowns.

Continuous Improvement & Team Development:

  • Partner with lending, credit, and operations leaders to drive corrective action plans and ensure sustainable remediation.

  • Influence business partners to improve front-line quality and reduce defect recurrence.

  • Drive process optimization and automation initiatives to enhance QC efficiency and coverage.

  • Develop feedback loops that translate QC insights into training, policy enhancements, and operational improvements.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing QC team, ensuring capability building, consistency, and accountability.

  • Promote a culture of proactive risk identification and continuous improvement across the lending lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of experience prior management experience and leading design, execution, and continuous improvement of the quality control framework across enterprise lending products

  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to build the team including creating the department vision, talent development plans, and coaching strategies for team success

  • Strong enterprise awareness and alignment, including governance, planning, delivery, and change management processes for operating in an evolving environment

  • Tenacity and inclination to seek out and implement procedural / process improvements in maturing the department

  • Prior experience with core servicing platform FIS IBS, plus loan origination platforms such as nCino

  • Exceptional service acumen, written and verbal skills to influence and effectively communicate with multiple roles and levels within the organization

  • Competent with tools such as Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Salesforce

  • Natural disposition for learning, collaboration, adaptability/flexibility

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this role is $98,000 - $132,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
