At Arctic Wolf, you won’t just watch the cybersecurity industry evolve – you'll help lead the change. Our global Pack is made up of people who thrive on solving hard problems, moving fast, and building technology that protects organizations around the world. We’re proud to be recognized by Forbes, CNBC, Fortune, CRN, Bartner Peer Insights and IDC MarketScape – but what matters most is the work behind it: delivering real outcomes for customers through award winning innovation like our Aurora Platform.
If you’re looking for meaningful work, smart teammates and the chance to make a real impact in a high-growth company that’s redefining security operations, Arctic Wolf is the right place for you! Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager - Exposure Management to be part of making this happen.
Location: This role is open to Hybrid-Eden Prairie-MN-US, Remote-US, Hybrid-Waterloo-ON-CA, Remote-CA.
About the Role
Arctic Wolf’s Exposure Management platform, built on a core foundation of Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management (CAASM), helps organizations discover, contextualize, and secure every asset across their environment. Our teams operate as empowered, cross-functional product teams — engineers, product managers, and designers collaborating to solve customer problems, not just ship features. We embrace DevOps principles and believe the teams that build it, own it.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead one or more engineering teams within the Exposure Management product area — owning delivery, growing engineers, and ensuring alignment between what the team builds and the outcomes the business needs. You bring strong technical depth at a Staff or Senior Staff level, contributing to architecture and design decisions while also building a healthy, high-performing team. Your work directly supports Arctic Wolf’s mission to End Cyber Risk.
Who You Are
A people-first leader who gets energy from coaching engineers, removing blockers, and watching your team succeed
Mission-driven and outcome-focused — you connect the team’s daily work to customer impact and business results
A self-starter who is proactive, curious, and constantly looking to improve yourself, your team, and the processes you work within
Customer-focused — you build empathy for the problems customers face and ensure your team understands the “why” behind the work
A clear communicator who translates between business context and technical execution — equally effective with engineers, product managers, and leadership
Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make decisions with incomplete information while keeping the team moving forward
You Will
Lead, coach, and grow one or more engineering teams — owning career development, performance, and team health
Own end-to-end delivery for your team’s commitments, ensuring quality, timelines, and alignment with product goals
Partner closely with Product Management and Design to shape solutions that balance value, usability, and feasibility
Engage technically at a Staff/Senior Staff level as needed – informing architecture and design decisions, reviewing HLDs, and unblocking complex or high-risk work – while keeping your primary focus on team leadership and delivery.
Champion engineering principles — clean design, domain-driven design, separation of concerns, KISS — and hold your team accountable to quality standards
Ensure the team follows agreed-upon development processes including Definition of Done, test automation, and CI/CD practices
Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement — facilitate sprint planning, retros, and demos
Recruit, interview, and hire engineers to grow the team
Communicate status, risks, and needs to stakeholders and leadership in a timely manner
Participate in the on-call rotation and serve as an escalation point during incidents – ensuring your team has the support they need to respond effectively
Our Technology Stack: Rust, Go, Python, AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS, EventBridge), GCP (Spanner)
Required Qualifications
8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience developing and operating SaaS platforms
3+ years of engineering management experience, leading and growing development teams
Have designed and operated multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS platforms at scale
Strong technical depth at the Staff/Senior Staff level — able to contribute to architecture, review designs, and jump into code when needed
Experience with two or more of: Rust, Go, Python
Deep understanding of distributed systems and multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP)
Grounded in engineering principles — clean design, domain-driven design, separation of concerns, KISS, YAGNI — and can coach teams to apply them pragmatically
Demonstrated ability to grow engineers — through career coaching, mentoring, and creating an environment where people do their best work
Experience partnering with product management in an empowered team model
Nice to Have
Experience in cybersecurity, exposure management, CAASM, or adjacent security domains
Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures at scale
Experience managing through organizational change, such as post-acquisition integration
Experience with cost optimization and scalability strategy (COGs)
