Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 2, Energetics Engineering to lead a team of manufacturing engineers supporting the manufacturing planning and execution of Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) programs across all market areas at the Elkton, Maryland campus. This department is responsible for the development, implementation, and sustainment of manufacturing processes and process control documents that ensure product quality, deliver on the program requirements, and adhere to all internal procedures and external regulations. The role requires a strong balance of technical leadership, people development, and operational execution across a complex and diverse technology environment.
Northrop Grumman’s PS&C facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Specific responsibilities include:
- Monitor, mentor, and coach employees to ensure they are meeting expectations
- Provide formal feedback and development opportunities to employees
- Ensure the organization is providing adequate support to all production areas and PS&C programs – initiating and implementing organization improvements as needed
- Lead, develop, and implement process, system, and site improvements
- Lead special investigations or projects
- Establish and track overhead budgets
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience or a Master’s of Engineering degree with 8 years of experience
- 5 years of project, program, or people leadership experience
- Leadership qualities desired with demonstrated success in:

- Lean manufacturing certification/experience
- Prior Program Manager experience
- New facility design and start-up experience
- An active DOD Secret or higher clearance
