Job Description
Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?
Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It Uniquely Yours.
The Email Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization from email-borne threats, enforcing messaging security controls, and improving detection and response capabilities. This role partners with the SOC/IR, End Users, Operations and Compliance teams to reduce phishing, business email compromise (BEC), malware delivery, spoofing, and data loss via email while maintaining a strong end-user experience and measurable risk reduction.
How you will contribute
Email Threat Detection and Response:
  • Monitor and investigate email-borne threats including phishing, BEC, credential harvesting, malware, spoofing, and spam campaigns.
  • Triage alerts from Proofpoint, M365, SIEM/SOAR, and user-reported submissions.
  • Perform message trace investigations, header analysis, URL and attachment analysis, and identify campaign scope and root cause.
  • Execute response actions: quarantine/retract messages, block senders/domains/URLs, coordinate account containment with SOC, and tune detections.

Platform Administration and Policy Management:
  • Administer and optimize Proofpoint and M365 messaging security controls (anti-phishing, anti-spam, anti-malware, impersonation protection).
  • Manage transport/mail flow rules and targeted protections for executives and high-risk users.
  • Maintain allow/block lists with lifecycle controls (validation, expiration, audit trail) to minimize policy sprawl.
  • Continuously tune detections to reduce false positives/negatives and improve protection efficacy.

Email Authentication and Domain Protection:
  • Understand and support domain fraud protection via SPF, DKIM, and DMARC alignment, reporting analysis, and enforcement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with domain owners, registrars and third-party senders to ensure compliant authentication and reduce spoofing risk.

Automation, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement:
  • Create and maintain playbooks/runbooks and automate common investigations and response actions (with automation where possible).
  • Produce business-oriented metrics and dashboards for business leadership.
  • Lead recurring hygiene efforts including policy cleanup, exception reduction, and deprecation of obsolete rules.

Collaboration and User Enablement:
  • Work with SOC/IR on incidents that originate from email and ensure proper evidence collection and containment steps.
  • Partner with Email Security team, end users and Help Desk teams to resolve deliverability issues and enforce secure exception handling.

More about this role
What extra ingredients you will bring:
  • 5+ years in email security, messaging security operations, or a SOC analyst role with primary focus on email threat defense.
  • Hands-on experience administering Proofpoint or comparable Secure Email Gateway (SEG) platforms (e.g., Mimecast, Abnormal, Barracuda, Cisco ESA).
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 email and messaging security.
  • Strong investigation skills including header analysis, hunting across mail logs, and URL/attachment analysis.
  • Solid understanding of email authentication and anti-spoofing controls (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), mail routing, and DNS concepts.
  • Experience integrating email security tools with SIEM/SOAR platforms and building detection/response workflows.
  • Ability to document findings clearly and communicate risk and remediation actions to technical and non-technical audiences.
