JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible to ensure the EHS compliances including the statutory compliances for the Goa site.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To comply with all applicable laws, company policies and standards for environment, health & safety.
- Identify potential EHS liabilities and effective management of it in the plant.
- Improve & maintain EHS performance of plant.
- Proper operation & maintenance of ETP to ensure regulatory compliances.
- Statutory compliances towards the disposal process of hazardous & non-hazardous waste generated at site.
- Conduct /coordinate training programs as per the requirements of Abbott EHS policies & guidelines.
- Conduct EHS awareness program.
- Liasoning of EHS matters with regulatory agencies like GSPCB, IFB & Fire department.
- Assess potential EHS risk & intimate management for corrective actions and timely implementation.
- Industrial hygiene, process hazard mapping for new process & process modification activities.
- BRSR/ESG audit inputs and handling.
- Compliances towards the statutory requirement of Goa factory rules towards on health of worker.
- Responsible for managing end to end activities of Industrial Occupational Health initiatives which includes managing the site OHC centre, agreements & contract renewals of Facility Medical officer on an yearly basis, coordination and execution of annual health checkups, half yearly health check ups for all the employees at site as per the process requirements and maintenance of records as per Goa Factory rule. Ensure adherence of Personal Health & Examination SOP and its compliance & timely renewals of the SOP.
- Creating & updating procedure for medical surveillance & Operation of OHC as per statutory requirement as and when required.
- Training to OHC staff first aider & employees, communication of notices & vaccination as required under International Business Travel policy.
- Procurement & maintaining the inventory of the OHC consumable. Service related to OHC: Calibration of OHC equipment as per statutory compliance & Abbott T22 standard. Servicing insurance and maintenance of ambulance.
- Tie ups with local hospitals to cater to the emergency cases.
- Health related promotional activities for site employees. Conducting AED drill as per Abbott Standard.
- External surveillance / camp/ blood donation drives. Vaccination program from site employees. Influenza & Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Carrying out OHPM survey & conducting drives & activities to enhance site’s OH scorecard.
- Launching GOHS initiatives at site: for 2024 Health & wellness behaviors under we Thrive project.
- Planning and Execution of CAPEX project related to Environment health and safety. Ensure compliance to cash flow commitments.
- Drive the yearly Safety week for the site.

Qualification: Diploma/Master’s in industrial safety
OSHA, NEBOSH Certification preferable
