The Role

The Manager is responsible for assisting in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and personnel activities to ensure the provision of quality services to meet the needs of the ECMO work unit. Leadership is provided based on the Mayo Clinic's mission, vision, and values. The role includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making with physicians, associate providers, department staff, and multidisciplinary team members. The Manager will maintain a professional environment and ongoing development of his/herself and staff. The Manager applies current leadership and management theories to daily management of team. Assists in the development and implementation of operational plans.

Bachelor's degree and a minimum 4 years of experience as an ECMO Specialist. ICU experience is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Function with initiative and independent judgment. Desire for continuous quality improvement. Demonstrates advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office products, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrates skills in leadership, problem solving, continuous improvement, verbal and written communication, and team building. Supervisory experience preferred.

Current Minnesota Respiratory Therapist (LRT) license & Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification, or Minnesota Registered Nurse License. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent determined by site is required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) where applicable. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
