About the role

The Manager, Distribution Operations serves as a subject matter expert and operational owner for a defined line of business within Distribution Operations. You will execute and optimize daily distribution workflows, ensuring readiness, and driving resolution of issues that impact delivery performance.

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Operational Execution & Ownership
    • Own the daily Distribution Operations workflows for a defined line of business, including order submission and tracking, delivery confirmation, readiness validation, and issue triage.
    • Perform and validate readiness checks to ensure assets meet internal and external distribution requirements before release.
    • Manage JIRA tickets and remediation workflows, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation of issues and outcomes.
    • Escalate risks and blockers proactively, providing clear context, impact, and recommended actions.
  • Cross-Departmental Coordination
    • Be the primary operational contact for internal stakeholders (Content Operations, Localization, Product, Engineering) and external partners.
    • Partner across Distribution Operations teams to ensure consistency and parity in distribution execution aligned to business intent.
    • Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to ensure smooth handoffs across the digital supply chain.
  • Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
    • Identify gaps in workflows, tools, and processes, and propose scalable solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and speed.
    • Contribute to the evolution of Distribution Operations playbooks, SOPs, and best practices.
    • Support implementation of new workflows and system changes, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Provide clear and timely updates on distribution status, risks, and issue resolution to stakeholders.
    • Track and report key operational metrics (e.g., delivery timelines, error rates, and SLA adherence).
    • Document workflows and changes to ensure transparency and operational continuity.

In the role of Manager Distribution Operations, you will report to the Senior Manager, Delivery Operations.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in media operations, digital supply chain, content distribution, or similar operational environments.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience working in the streaming industry (vendor or studio).
  • Strong understanding of content lifecycle workflows (ingest → processing → distribution).
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA), asset tracking, and workflow management tools.
  • Experience managing complex workflows.
  • Experience managing customer-to-vendor relationships for production changes.

As the accountable function for outbound distribution, launch readiness, and remediation, the team ensures every title, asset, and release meets the highest standards for accuracy, timeliness, and partner confidence across platforms and distribution partners.

The team drives seamless execution across launches, readiness validation, triage, and remediation, serving as a critical part of Crunchyroll's digital supply chain. It also operates as the outbound complement to Content Operations' inbound workflows, partnering closely to ensure validated, high-quality assets move smoothly from creation through global distribution.

By combining operational precision with a service-oriented mindset, Distribution Operations accelerates speed to market, strengthens delivery performance, and builds scalable foundations across all lines of business.
