Job Description: Digital Solutions Run Team Manager
Position Overview
As the Digital Solutions Run Team Manager, you will lead a high-performing team focused on sustaining, improving, and delivering digital solutions to support operational excellence across manufacturing and related functions. This role is integral to the strategic direction and execution of the Digital Solutions function and is a key driver in aligning digital tools and systems with manufacturing strategy.
You will be responsible for delivering results across system ownership, project execution, team leadership, and strategic alignment. This role requires a professional with a strong track record in functional management, strategic planning, and digital transformation within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Own and deliver the digital strategy for manufacturing, aligning systems, tools, and processes to both immediate operational needs and long-term organizational objectives.
- Contribute to the overall leadership of the Digital Solutions function, driving engagement, collaboration, and alignment with other product owners and functional managers.
- Create and execute a clear 5-year and 1-year strategy for the Run team, including OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) aligned with the wider organizational goals.
People Management and Development:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of highly skilled professionals, driving competency development, career progression, and engagement across the team.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring team members own their responsibilities and deliver on objectives.
- Build and implement succession planning and skill gap analysis to ensure a resilient and future-ready team.
System and Process Ownership:
- Oversee all systems, tools, and platforms under the Run function, ensuring they meet compliance, governance, and operational excellence standards.
- Establish governance frameworks, ownership structures, and support models for all digital solutions within manufacturing.
- Ensure seamless integration and continuous improvement of new and existing systems to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary interface between the Digital Solutions team and manufacturing stakeholders, ensuring alignment of digital solutions with operational strategy and challenges.
- Build strong relationships with external vendors, commercial partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery and support of digital tools and solutions.
- Facilitate forums and regular touchpoints with stakeholders to review progress, address challenges, and align on strategic goals.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean principles and advanced digital tools to optimize processes and reduce lead times.
- Take ownership of data compliance, CSV (Computer Systems Validation), and data governance processes within manufacturing.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring robust, resilient, and scalable systems.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a leadership role within a regulated manufacturing environment, ideally with experience in digital systems, tools, and data management.
- Strong knowledge of GMP/FDA regulatory requirements and CSV processes.
- Proven expertise in Lean tools and process improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across functions and levels.
- Experience in developing and delivering strategic roadmaps and aligning team goals to organizational objectives.
- Advanced project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to lead, coach, and inspire diverse teams.
- Strong technical aptitude and a deep understanding of digital solutions, data governance, and manufacturing systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with systems such as MES, SCADA, OSI PI, or other manufacturing and data integration tools.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Data Science, or related field is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional digital transformation initiatives.
