Strong understanding of data governance concepts and practices, including data quality standards, metadata management, lineage, stewardship, and policy enforcement.
Experience with data governance and analytics platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon, Databricks Unity Catalog, or similar) is required.
Proficiency in SQL, plus fluency reading data models, metadata, and lineage representations.
Demonstrated ability to drive platform adoption across data producers, stewards, and consumers, including the change management required to land new governance tooling.
Demonstrated ability to define and track success metrics for governance work (adoption, coverage, data quality), and to use that data to prioritize investment and report on impact.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
