Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced professional with a strong foundation in financial markets and fund accounting. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in both traditional securities and cryptocurrency assets, along with hands-on operational experience across the full fund accounting lifecycle.
Required Knowledge and SkillsFinancial Markets Expertise
- Strong understanding of capital markets, including securities and cryptocurrency instruments, terminology, and trading conventions.
Fund Accounting Lifecycle
Demonstrated experience with the following operational functions required to strike an accurate Net Asset Value (NAV):
Portfolio Accounting
- Establishment and ongoing maintenance of the portfolio investment master file.
- Processing of trades from centralized and decentralized exchanges.
- Daily reconciliation of cash balances, positions, and P&L across multiple exchanges, wallets, and custodians.
- Accurate valuation of portfolio investments.
Fund & Investor Accounting
- Recording of fund-level operating expenses.
Reconciliation of fund operational bank accounts. - Calculation of investor-specific fees, including management and performance-based fees.
- Familiarity with investor performance metrics, including high-water marks, hurdle rates, and crystallization methodologies for incentive fees.
- Preparation of fund financial statements and detailed portfolio schedules.
Training & Onboarding
- Support for onboarding new fund launches and client conversions.
- Evaluation and refinement of operational workflows to drive efficiency; coordination with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Development and maintenance of documentation for complex asset classes, including training materials, policies, and procedures.
- Preparation of select NAV reports for complex clients
- Oversight and review of fund accounting deliverables prepared by fund accounting teams.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in hedge fund or private equity accounting roles.
- Proficiency with fund accounting platforms such as Geneva, FundCount, InvestOne, or VPM.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a professional demeanor and proven success in client and team interactions.
- Practical experience working with cryptocurrency assets.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA credentials are highly desirable, though not mandatory.
