As a Manager Platform Operations Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the dozens of Fullsteam Business Units patching requirements. These BUs are cloud based and agnostic. You will work closely with Platform Operations and Platform Engineering teams and various Feature Development teams. The Manager Platform Operations Engineer will be responsible for hardening the BUs production environments while meeting NSA obligations and maintaining PCI DSS attestations. Operational best practices and creativity will be essential to this job function’s success.
This leader is expected to ensure that there is ongoing immediate action taken with critical and high security vulnerabilities. Patching requirements will be obtained by Fullsteam IT leadership and may also be augmented with security tools such as Wiz, SecurityHub or Defender.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform and participate in security reviews for infrastructure and OS related projects.

Create test plans for patching.

Assist with patching and hardening, lead from ahead.

Craft automated security auditing and monitoring software and infrastructure related to the above.

Administer security-related infrastructure and applications needed.
Skills & Competencies:

Excellent performance management skills.

Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and develop employees.

Demonstrated skill sets (i.e.. Solutions architect) and competencies in DevOps and Security to ensure the team is up to date on best practices, Cloud functionality, appropriate tools and their uses, and industry trends related to DevSecOps engineering.

Deep understanding of engineering management, and capability to manage teams remotely in different time zones, with different cultures.

Ability to lead technically while using AWS or Azure, and guide teams in meeting the demands of a multi-faceted distributed system at scale.
Experience and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree from a STEM field

Experienced with leading and supporting automated DevOps and CloudOps practices.

Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Powershell.

Deep experience with AWS.

At least 3 years of experience in Azure.

Excellent documentation and organization skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
