Debt Advisory Group – Who are we?

Our Debt and Capital Advisory team provides independent advice and strategic insight to clients throughout their lifecycle. We advise on the design, sourcing and execution of funding solutions that support growth, acquisitions, refinancing, regulatory capital requirements and balance sheet optimisation.

Independent of lenders, products and markets, we provide objective advice on the optimum capital structure for our clients.

What do we do?

Companies raise debt finance for a broad range of reasons, from funding initiatives that fuel growth, refinancing existing debt and financing an acquisition to navigating a difficult economic climate and negotiating amendments and waivers. We support companies through this process, making sure the structure of their financing arrangements aligns with their strategic ambitions.

We advise across a broad range of debt products, including:

  • Bank debt
  • Asset-Based Lending (ABL)
  • Unitranche and private credit
  • Private placements
  • Subordinated debt
  • Warehouse facilities
  • Forward flow arrangements
  • Receivables financing
  • Securitisation and structured finance
  • Capital markets solutions

Interpath’s Debt Advisory team is expanding rapidly, with the goal of quickly building a market leading debt advisory business. As a result, we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our Debt Advisory Group as a Manager. You will be responsible for providing debt advisory services to a diverse range of clients, managing transactions and assisting with business development.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end debt advisory process for clients, encompassing options appraisal, financing strategy, transaction execution, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Lead client meetings and structuring discussions to develop tailored financing solutions that align with client objectives.
  • Prepare high-quality financial analyses, transaction marketing materials, and presentations.
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and assess market conditions to aid in the funding solution selection process.
  • Negotiate with lenders and other relevant parties to ensure optimal financing terms for clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities by contributing to pitches, targeting new clients, and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, providing support in their professional development.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within the Debt Advisory Group.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in debt advisory, corporate finance, or related fields.
  • Professional qualifications such as CAI, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Advanced financial modelling capabilities, with the ability to build models from scratch.
  • Expertise in structuring debt financings and assessing various capital structures, including junior debt, senior debt, mezzanine financing, preferred equity, and common equity.
  • Proficiency in senior debt repayment modelling, covering interest-only structures, amortisation schedules, and interest roll-up scenarios.
  • Strong analytical skills in debt covenant modelling, including IRR (Internal Rate of Return), NPV (Net Present Value), MOIC (Multiple on Invested Capital), ICR (Interest Coverage Ratio), DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio), Max LTV (Loan to Value) and DY (Debt Yield).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, lenders and other key stakeholders.

Skills Required
