We are seeking a highly skilled leader with experience leading high technical teams to join our dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in storage solutions and cloud environments, with a proven track record of managing technical operations and infrastructure support teams.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 7 years relevant experience required.
  • Masters degree a plus.
  • Experience in working as an Infrastructure Manager, Microsoft Engineer, Linux/Unix sysadmin, Cloud Engineer, or a IT consulting role as well as prior managing IT Infrastructure projects and resolving day to day issues.
  • Project Management experience and Vendor and Licensing management experience is a plus.

  • Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, collaboration, organizational skills and ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to proactively identify innovative solutions to challenging problems and explain complex concepts and risk both simply and accurately to non-technical users.

  • Strong overall understanding of relevant business procedures.
  • Understanding of on prem distributed systems architecture and functioning, virtualization and hyperconvergence, including Windows, Linux and AIX operating systems, and their interdependences with critical IT Systems.
  • Understanding of Storage and Backup technologies and topologies, and their interactions with the different infrastructure, on prem, AWS and/or Azure.
  • Oversee, control and efficient, end to end on prem infrastructure. Ensuring infrastructure high availability and reliability to support Avangrid’s critical applications/
  • Excellent team leader.

JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Oversees the activities surrounding all infrastructure aspects under its responsibility, across Avangrid. Coordinates Linux (RHEL, SUSE), Unix (IBM), Microsoft (HYV, SCCM, Windows)  and Storage technology (IBM, Dell, Netapp,), on prem and on the cloud, and backup Infrastructures, such as Commvault, DR replication (SVC) and Dell Apex Backup.

Manages staff activities, prioritizes tasks, communicates task status with IT Management. Ensures adherence to global/local infrastructure blueprints and roadmaps. Manages and mentors staff, as needed.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

  • Lead and manage high-performing technical teams in cloud storage and infrastructure environments.
  • Infrastructure lifecycle management (HW/SW).
  • Automate storage infrastructure using Ansible.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving operational efficiency and reliability while reducing costs.
  • Engagement with Applications Team in order to define requirements and needs for Applications Projects execution. Resource planning and assignment to applications projects in alignment with Infrastructure projects pipeline.
  • Ensure the delivery of services in line with IT metrics and processes. Provide leadership for client led and IT led projects.
  • Handles task prioritization, performance monitoring, task assignment, task status reporting, project work, and overall lifecycle planning.
  • Ownership of the infrastructure inventory in the corporate CMDB, ensuring the quality of the data.
  • Manages budgets, dossiers, licensing, contract spend approvals and reports on budget variances.
  • Local and Global Project Management Delivery.
  • Manage coordination with the Global peers in TPO. Coordination for global TPO infrastructure related projects.
  • Manages resources (people, processes and technology).
  • Maintains and develops the needed skills of the staff. Communicates employee feedback, researches and resolves employee questions, and reports performance appraisal results
  • Defines learning paths for the team continuous training.

Competency Requirements:

It is preferred that for this job, the candidate fulfills the requirements in terms of levels indicated below.

  • Extensive experience with IBM, Dell, and NetApp storage solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing Brocade switches and directors.
  • Proven experience in managing technical operations or infrastructure support teams in AWS and/or Azure cloud or data center environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Nutanix, Microsoft, Red Hat Linux, Storage, or IBM Power AIX.
  • Expertise in using Ansible for automation and also Infrastructure as Code deployment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
