Job Summary: The Manager, Data Sales - Strategic Accounts is a revenue-focused role responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of a portfolio of CME Group's strategic data clients within the Strategic Partner Program. This role is essential for driving revenue retention, identifying upsell opportunities, and ensuring operational excellence in the client relationship. The Manager will execute the full account management lifecycle for high-value accounts, acting as the primary commercial point of contact to ensure a responsive and unified customer experience. The core focus is on maintaining and growing the commercial footprint through effective client support, strong internal collaboration, and a solid understanding of customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:Account Execution & Revenue Retention:Execute the commercial lifecycle for assigned strategic clients, from processing opportunities to ensuring timely execution and renewal.
Track client usage and gather actionable feedback to inform internal teams on client needs, competitive positioning, and opportunities for process improvement.
Support the negotiation and execution of commercial deals and program renewals, ensuring the client is set up on the most appropriate commercial terms.
Act as the primary commercial contact, focusing on high client retention while actively identifying and pursuing upsell and cross-sell opportunities across CME Group's data products and solutions.
Actively participate as part of a global account coverage team to promote cross-introductions between the data business and the markets trading business alongside additional data services, presenting a unified and holistic value proposition to clients.
Develop a deep and comprehensive understanding of each client's business, corporate goals, market trends, and competitive landscape to position CME Group as an indispensable partner.
Maintain strong relationships with key contacts within strategic client organizations and data vendors, supporting the Director's efforts to scale CME's reach and product uptake, and establish essential commercial relationships with senior leaders within their organizations.
Communicate client needs, operational issues, and market trends to Data Services Business Line Managers and other internal stakeholders to support product and service improvements.
Proactively communicate product changes, fee updates, and policy revisions to clients to maintain transparency and a positive experience.
Manage and prioritize internal requests to ensure efficient support for day-to-day client operational needs, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Ensure timely resolution and escalation of operational issues, including reporting, invoice/billing inquiries, and policy/agreement matters.
Execute and support account plans, working with clients to map their usage and needs against all CME Data Services offerings.
Lead regular account reviews and education sessions to ensure clients clearly understand market data policies and licensing requirements.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Legal, Finance, Product, and Operations, to orchestrate seamless support and execution for strategic clients.
Partner with transaction sales teams (e.g., Client Development & Sales) to align strategies and ensure a holistic CME Group footprint with top-tier accounts.
Ensure all top-tier accounts have the appropriate licenses through timely review and follow-up.
Support the onboarding of clients to new data products and programs, ensuring the client understands their commercial responsibilities and program terms.
Product Knowledge:
Develop a strong understanding of CME Group’s suite of market data solutions, including real-time data feeds, historical data, benchmarks, analytics, and various data licensing models.

Adoption of New CME Data & Analytics Products
Leverages the use of CME’s CRM system to log all relevant customer activity, feedback, and opportunities. Proactively initiates communication and coordination across segments to drive cross selling efforts.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in account management, sales, or a similar client-facing role within the financial services, market data, or FinTech industry.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue retention and growth targets within a book of business.
Deep industry knowledge and a strong understanding of the market data and financial technology landscape and the operational models of banks, retail trading platforms, market data providers, trading platforms, or proprietary trading firm entities.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, including trust and rapport with individuals within client organizations resulting in value creation and solving key client challenges.
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with client operational and commercial contacts.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate commercial terms and policy requirements.
A detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage a pipeline and track performance against key metrics.
Experience supporting and executing commercial negotiations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal teams.
Proficiency in using CRM systems (like Salesforce.com) for managing and tracking customer interactions.
