The Opportunity:
TrueCar seeks a Manager, Software Engineering - Data to join our fast-paced team. Collaborating in a highly dynamic environment, you will manage a talented team of engineers to enhance our online platform and revolutionize the car buying experience.
How you will contribute to TrueCar’s success:
- Lead and grow a team of exceptional data engineers.
- Own product roadmaps, projects, and outcomes throughout their life cycles.
- Provide technical guidance through coaching, code review, and architectural input.
- Collaborate in shaping the technical roadmap for the engineering team.
- Influence decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and business partners to prioritize work and set team goals.
- Refine engineering practices and drive positive change within the team.
- Champion your team’s work across the organization.
Your Expertise:
- Strong ability to build partnerships within a fast-moving, results-oriented organization.
- Experience enhancing engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Hands-on management style with the ability to mentor and inspire others.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience in building and growing teams of exceptional data engineers and technical leaders.
- Expertise in batch (e.g. Airflow) and streaming (e.g. Spark) data pipelines with demonstrated experience in achieving data delivery SLAs
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. HBase, AWS Redshift) with extensive experience in at least one system
- Hands-on experience with Java or Python
Base salary range: $141,000 - $188,000
