Cybersecurity is more critical than ever as the Bank accelerates its digital ambitions, expands its technology capabilities, and navigates an increasingly complex threat landscape.

To support the Bank's transformation journey, we are establishing a dedicated Cybersecurity Operations team to strengthen cyber resilience, safeguard our customers, and enable secure business growth. As part of this initiative, we are looking for a Manager - Cybersecurity Operations to lead this team and drive the Bank's cybersecurity operations agenda.

Job Purpose:

The Manager – Cybersecurity Operations is responsible and accountable for leading the end-to-end Cybersecurity Operations function across the MCB Group, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the Group’s information assets, systems, applications and digital services.

The role oversees Security Operations, Cyber Threat Intelligence and the Computer Emergency Response Team to ensure proactive identification, detection, containment and mitigation of cyber threats and risks. It also drives the continuous enhancement of cyber resilience while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices and the Group’s cybersecurity strategy.

In this role you will:

Cybersecurity Operations & Security Monitoring

• Lead enterprise-wide Cybersecurity Operations to protect the Group’s information assets, applications, infrastructure and digital channels.
• Ensure continuous monitoring, detection, analysis and response to cybersecurity threats and security events.
• Oversee security technologies and capabilities, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IAM, NDR, DLP, email security and threat intelligence platforms.

• Monitor cybersecurity performance through relevant service levels, KPIs, governance mechanisms and management reporting.

  
  

SOC, CERT & Incident Response

• Lead and develop the Group’s Security Operations Centre and Computer Emergency Response Team.
• Oversee the investigation, containment, eradication and recovery of cybersecurity incidents.
• Coordinate incident response across technology teams, business units, third parties and external agencies where required.
• Ensure timely escalation and communication of significant cybersecurity incidents.
• Drive forensic investigations, post-incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis, ensuring corrective actions are completed.

• Maintain and regularly test cyber crisis management procedures through simulations, tabletop exercises and cyber drills.

  
  

Cyber Threat Intelligence

• Lead the Cyber Threat Intelligence function and proactively assess emerging cyber threats.
• Integrate threat intelligence into security monitoring, detection, incident response and threat-hunting activities.
• Produce actionable threat assessments, intelligence reports and indicators of compromise to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with regulators, law enforcement agencies, industry peers and external intelligence providers.

• Drive proactive threat hunting to identify and address potential threats before business impact occurs.

  
  

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Continuously enhance cybersecurity monitoring, detection and response capabilities.
• Promote the use of security playbooks, automation and orchestration solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Improve Mean Time to Detect and Mean Time to Respond across cybersecurity incidents.

• Optimise security operations processes, budgets and vendor performance to support effective and cost-efficient service delivery.

  
  

Cyber Resilience, Governance & Compliance

• Support the implementation of the Group’s cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, legal and cybersecurity requirements.
• Support audits, regulatory inspections, cybersecurity assessments, business continuity and disaster recovery exercises.
• Collaborate with IT Risk, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Technology teams and Business Units to strengthen cybersecurity controls.

• Provide cybersecurity posture reports, dashboards and risk updates to senior management and governance committees.

  
  

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and develop multidisciplinary Cybersecurity, SOC and CERT teams, fostering accountability and a high-performance security culture.
• Build capabilities in cyber defence, threat intelligence, incident response and digital forensics.
• Support workforce planning, succession planning and capability development across the function.
• Act as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
• Communicate cyber risks, incidents and security performance in clear business terms.
• Engage with regulators, auditors, law enforcement agencies, vendors and industry forums where required.

• Align Cybersecurity Operations with the CIO and Group Cybersecurity strategy through relevant KPIs and performance measures.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of:

• Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security or a related discipline.
• 12 to 15 years or more of experience in cybersecurity.
• At least three years of experience leading a Security Operations Centre or Computer Emergency Response Team environment.
• Proven experience managing security operations, cybersecurity monitoring, threat detection and cyber incident response.
• Strong experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence, Security Engineering and Cyber Resilience.
• Experience working with regulators, audit requirements and recognised cybersecurity frameworks.

• Experience within banking, financial services, critical infrastructure or another regulated industry is strongly preferred.

  
  

You will also be required to demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of Security Operations Centre and Computer Emergency Response Team practices;
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity incident response, threat intelligence, digital forensics and threat hunting;
• Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IAM, NDR, DLP and email security;
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, regulatory compliance and cyber resilience;
• Experience managing cybersecurity vendors, budgets and service performance;
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills;
• Strong analytical thinking, technical problem-solving and decision-making capabilities;
• Ability to lead and develop specialist cybersecurity teams in a continuous operational environment;
• High levels of professionalism, accountability, adaptability and resilience.

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, GCIH, GCIA, CEH, CompTIA Security+ or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor would be an advantage.
