Interested in joining a team that’s eager to create, innovate and make an impact on the world? Read on.

We’re looking for a hands-on Software and Data Engineering Manager to join our Cloud and Platform Security team. While the team operates in the cybersecurity domain, prior cybersecurity experience is not required. We’re looking for a strong engineering leader who can learn and apply the domain on the job.

In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of software engineering, data, and large-scale platforms—translating complex, ambiguous business challenges into scalable, well-architected technical and data solutions.

You'll be a force multiplier for the team: setting technical direction, managing engineers, remaining close to the technology, and partnering closely with product, engineering, security, and platform stakeholders to ensure our systems are reliable, maintainable, and built for scale.

This is not just a hands-on engineering role—it requires someone who can think strategically, communicate across disciplines, and turn business intent into technical reality. A core part of this mission is using data to deliver curated, actionable guidance and intelligent prioritization directly to application teams, empowering them to make better and more impactful decisions faster.

What you’ll do in the role:

Technical Leadership

  • Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for large-scale data products and platforms within the Cloud and Platform Security team.

  • Architect end-to-end data pipelines and platforms that support high-volume data ingestion, processing, enrichment, analytics, and user-facing data products.

  • Establish engineering standards, best practices, and patterns for software development, data ingestion, transformation, storage, APIs, observability, and access control.

  • Remain hands-on and close to the technology through architecture and design reviews, code reviews, prototyping, and solving difficult engineering problems.

  • Own key technical decisions and trade-offs, and communicate them clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

Problem Synthesis & Solution Design

  • Partner with engineering, product, security, and compliance teams to deeply understand complex business and technical problems.

  • Break down ambiguous, multi-faceted challenges and translate them into actionable, well-scoped technical solutions.

  • Drive discovery and requirements processes—asking the right questions to surface the real problem before jumping to solutions.

  • Design data products that turn complex datasets into useful insights, prioritization, recommendations, and experiences for end users.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead and actively contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software and data platforms.

  • Build platforms that handle high-volume data such as events, logs, alerts, audit trails, and telemetry with reliability and low latency.

  • Design systems that integrate data from heterogeneous sources and transform it into consistent, trustworthy, and actionable data products.

  • Ensure data quality, observability, reliability, performance, and governance are first-class concerns across all systems.

People & Collaboration

  • Mentor and grow a team of software and data engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and ongoing technical coaching.

  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to cross-functional partners, representing the team in architectural reviews and strategic planning discussions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience in software engineering and/or data engineering, with at least 2 years in a tech lead or people manager role.

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to remain technically engaged while leading a team.

  • Proven ability to take complex, ambiguous business problems and synthesize them into clear, elegant, at-scale technical solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience building data products that deliver actionable insights or guidance to end users—not just pipelines for pipelines' sake.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, data platforms, or data-intensive applications.

  • Hands-on experience with modern software and/or data engineering technologies and practices.

  • Experience building and operating production systems in modern cloud environments.

  • At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience would generally be expected to have developed the skills required for this role.

Preferred:

  • Experience building developer-facing tooling, platforms, or data products that guide application teams toward better outcomes.

  • Experience with high-volume event, telemetry, observability, or analytics platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with data engineering at scale.

  • Experience with cloud-native technologies and services.

  • Background working in regulated industries or with compliance-driven data requirements.

  • Experience in cybersecurity, including Cloud Security, Platform Security, AppSec, vulnerability management, or a related domain is helpful but not required.

  • Familiarity with vulnerability management concepts such as CVEs, CVSS, and EPSS is helpful but not required.
