About the role
The Manager of CRO owns the test roadmap for ClassPass’s Consumer and Partner websites, making the case for what we test, why, and in what order. This is a technical management role: you’ve written front-end code yourself, you can hold your team accountable for what’s actually feasible, and you’re comfortable being the first call when our Engineering team has a question about scope or implementation approach.
You’ll manage a team of CRO Developers across two tracks (B2C and B2B) and own the bridge between experimentation, creative, product, and engineering. Your roadmap should generate genuine debate with stakeholders, not just a list of tasks, because it reflects impact-based prioritization with clear tradeoffs and a view into the long-term vision.
ClassPass’s marketing team recently shifted to server-side testing. You’ll help shape that workflow in partnership with our Engineering department, which means you need to be comfortable in the codebase and confident in the technical details.
What you’ll own
Roadmap & strategy
- Build and maintain an impact-based CRO roadmap across Consumer and Partner with clear confidence levels, effort sizing, and tradeoffs stakeholders can actually debate
- Generate test ideas, not just organize requests from others. The roadmap should reflect your own hypotheses about where the biggest signup, lead gen, and conversion opportunities are
- Own the monthly stakeholder review: empower your CRO Developers to present the business impact of their work, and lead the conversation with stakeholders about the next roadmap priorities
- Triage and own incoming test requests with data-backed priority calls
Technical leadership
- Manage a team of CRO Developers across B2C and B2B tracks
- Review Figma designs with enough technical and UX judgment to catch what others miss before build begins
- Own the CRO side of server-side testing in partnership with Engineering, including scoping, sequencing, and implementation feedback
- Be the Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams’ first call for input on experimentation scope, feasibility questions, and test design feedback
Stakeholder & cross-functional ownership
- Be the face of CRO to stakeholders, with proactive updates on what’s being tested, what the results mean, and what’s coming next
- Own the relationship with the Business Intelligence team to ensure test data and dashboards are accessible and trusted, without building them yourself
- Partner with Creative on test design
- Surface risks and blockers early
What we’re looking for
Requirements
- Front-end development background. You can read a PR, pressure-test a feasibility estimate, and hold a technical conversation with an engineer
- Direct experience running A/B tests
- A test ideation mindset. You come to the roadmap with hypotheses of your own, grounded in data and user behavior, not just a good prioritization framework
- Experience owning a roadmap across multiple audience types or business units simultaneously
- Comfortable being a cross-functional partner to engineering
Strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Optimizely or an equivalent experimentation platform
- Experience with server-side testing infrastructure and codebase-level experimentation
- Comfort with SQL to interrogate test results yourself rather than waiting for a readout
- Experience managing developers or technical ICs directly
