Role: Manager, Credit Governance & Control
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
This position is for UAE Nationals only.
Role Purpose:
This function will serve as an in-house Governance & Control function for Credit team covering all Businesses & Geographies.
The function will ensure Governance over underwriting processes and compliance with Credit policy and regulations.
Key accountabilities of the role:
Support the Head of Credit Governance & Control in establishing a sound Credit culture and process in the bank
Establish and manage Credit monitoring Forum to escalate expiries and past dues
Support in implementing and managing the RCSA
Identify areas for automation to increase efficiency and support cost rationalization
Conduct event-based reviews to assess process and policy compliance
Support in establishing Early alert process by liaising with stakeholders
Provide appropriate input in formulation of Credit policies & Product programs
Interact with stakeholders including product team, Credit, Risk and Operations team
MIS & presentation preparation for management review
Manage Credit related projects and initiatives.
Specialist skills / technical knowledge required for this role:
Thorough understanding of Credit life cycle, Banking operations, Policies, Regulations, Compliance and Risk management is a must
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
UAE working experience of 5+ years is a must
Familiar with the CB UAE regulatory regime
Analytical Thinking & Business Oriented approach
Previous experience required (if any):
A minimum of 15-18 years of professional experience in Banking with deep knowledge of product, processes and services. Candidate should possess a strong Control mindset.
Good understanding of business, finance, economics and current affairs.
Candidate should have managed teams and should have a proven track record and achievement.
Skills Required
- UAE national
- At least 5 years of UAE work experience
- 15–18 years of professional banking experience
- Deep knowledge of banking products, processes, and services
- Thorough understanding of the credit lifecycle, banking operations, policies, regulations, compliance, and risk management
- Familiarity with the Central Bank of the UAE regulatory regime
- Strong control mindset
- Experience managing teams with a proven track record of achievement
- Understanding of business, finance, economics, and current affairs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
