Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Manager, Costing & Pricing to join our Costing & Pricing Department based in Grand Prairie, TX.

You'll be responsible for managing, analyzing and developing costs and pricing for commercial and government offers. You'll successfully manage a comprehensive cost control system to ensure each offer is built timely and accurately and recommend process improvements. You must be capable of reviewing Commercial and Government Request for Proposals (RFP) and decomposing and communicating the RFP pricing requirements. You'll interact with executives, program managers, sales to ensure compliance of RFP requirements. You'll also be responsible for leading all gate reviews related to each offer within the finance perimeter.

Our Finance and Accounting team members need excellent analytical and communication skills to successfully manage our financial portfolio. Our teams provide key analytics - from month-end closing to performance management analysis for our partners. Primary Responsibilities:

Costing & Pricing: 50%

  • Oversees cost and pricing for a range of proposals to include both domestic and international opportunities and ranging in size of complexity.
  • Ensure costing information provided is timely, accurate and supportable in response to requests
  • Drive continuous improvement of costing, processes to ensure consistency, accuracy and reliability.
  • Cost out non- standard option requests from sales as needed.
  • Maintain and document all vendor pricing in an organized, suitable fashion for easy reference.

Business Cases: 25%

  • Create business cases which provide management sufficient cost, margin and price information and analysis for proposed and established prices to support business decisions.
  • Leads finance offer evaluation process to retrieve approvals needed for release of offer.

Proposal Development: 25%

  • Responsible for all aspects of gathering cost estimates and pricing activities for a major proposal efforts for Commercial, Government or S&S activities
  • Participate in, support and lead the development, preparation, presentation and review of the costing and pricing gate reviews
  • Interpret pre-RFP, draft RFP and formal RFP requirements for analysis and review

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Required: 7 years of experience in cost estimating and analysis for government or commercial proposals, including 5 years of experience with FAR12 or FAR15 type US government proposals
  • Preferred: Experience with Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
  • Preferred: Experience with budgeting
  • Preferred: SAP experience
  • Preferred: Manufacturing experience
  • Required: Experience preparing proposal pricing and business cases
  • Required: Able to communicate effectively, written and verbal to others, individually and in group settings in English
  • Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word or comparable systems
  • Up to 5% Domestic and International Travel involved with this role

  • Onsite: 95%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 5-10lbs Daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 5-10lbs Daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Several times a week
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Daily
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Monthly
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Occasionally may be required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection if visiting the shop floor.
