FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Salary, Exempt 

COMPENSATION RATE: $60 - 67k annually 

LOCATION: 170 N. Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601(Hybrid Eligible) 


POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Corporate Partnerships is the primary fundraiser for corporate relationships at The Goodman. To do this, they interface with Trustees and executive leaders, corporate partners, donors and prospects, working to grow the theater’s base of support for all aspects of this programming. To support these goals, the Manager of Corporate Partnerships also oversees the Goodman Business Council auxiliary group and collaborates with the Goodman Events team to rally support for key benefit events. 


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Cultivate and solicit corporate contributions from 50-75 partners, including major gifts, annual support and sponsorships totaling between $850,000 and $1,000,000 annually. Collaborate with Goodman Events team to raise additional funds for benefit events, frequently folded into sponsorship packages. 

  • Prepare persuasive sponsorship pitches and proposals to corporate donors and prospects, collaborating with marketing, communications, education, and artistic staff to develop and coordinate new opportunities that resonate with corporate partners. 

  • Steward corporate donors by providing formal and informal stewardship reports via email, calls, site visits and meetings. 

  • Work with Goodman trustees to solicit and steward the corporations with which they are affiliated.  Support trustees in both cultivation and solicitation efforts with their own employers and across their networks.  

  • Serve as Liaison for the Goodman Business Council, a corporate giving society. 

  • Lead, grow and execute the corporate annual giving (Corporate Connections) campaign. 

  • Consistently monitor and develop a diversified and growing pool of institutional prospects to support productions, education, new work, technology, IDEAA projects and new initiatives.  

  • Leverage special events and other recognition/benefit opportunities in a targeted manner to engage and attract new donors. Collaborate with Development Events staff to help plan stewardship events for corporate donors. 

  • Collaborate with the Development team to create annual plans and benchmarks for Corporate giving, including strategies for achieving those benchmarks, indicators of success, and evaluating progress. 

  • Maintain accurate data and files for portfolio of corporate donors and prospects in Tessitura database, including donor activity through the process of cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated fundraising experience for a major non-profit with knowledge of the Chicago corporate community and a track record of working with corporate donors to secure gifts and steward relationships. 

  • Demonstrated ability to seek, secure and manage five and six-figure corporate sponsorships for a major non-profit. 

  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills; strong research and organizational skills 

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, collaborate across departments, meet deadlines and set and manage priorities 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Tessitura and web-based applications and databases
