We have an opportunity for a Manager, Operational Risk Practices to join our Risk function at Westpac New Zealand. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Core Non-Financial Risk Practices, this role plays an important part in supporting the consistent and effective delivery of non-financial risk practices across the bank.

As part of the Line 2 Compliance and Non-Financial Risk team, you will work closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Operational Risk and Regulatory Governance. The focus of the role is to strengthen a consistent, enterprise-wide approach to managing non-financial risk, while supporting improvements in how risk practices are delivered and embedded.

You will contribute to uplifting risk practices, enhancing reporting and providing practical guidance to ensure high quality outcomes across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the oversight and monitoring of non-financial risks across the business and provide clear, consistent guidance

  • Contribute to initiatives that simplify and improve risk practices and ways of working

  • Support the delivery of senior leadership reporting and engagement with internal and external stakeholders

  • Partner with Line 1 and Line 2 teams to drive aligned, practical risk outcomes across the organisation
