Manage the strategic analysis of viewing data to drive actionable insights and recommendations for A+E Networks' global digital presence. Operate the fulfillment of daily analytical needs for the Programming, Scheduling, Marketing, Sales, and Strategy teams, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals. Regularly brief senior management on current performance and trends, providing expert analysis that informs key business decisions. Leverage analytical systems and collaborate with the VP in developing sophisticated, data-driven strategies and forecasts that enhance and track multiplatform performance. The ideal candidate will possess a can-do mindset, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling stories, and demonstrate an exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Curate Cross-Platform Actionable Insights

  • Interpret complex data sets to identify key trends, delivering strategic, data-driven recommendations that inform high-level decision-making processes.
  • Employ comprehensive assessment of A+E Networks' content consumption across platforms and territories.
  • Develop and present deep insights into the performance of A+E Networks' content, driving informed business strategies.
  • Craft compelling, data-led sales narratives through presentations, one-sheets, and infographics that resonate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitor and communicate industry trends, market shifts, and competitive intelligence, positioning A+E Networks as a leader in the marketplace.
  • Design and implement efficient project plans and processes for ad hoc requests, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on A+E’s content, global audience, and television consumption habits, partnering with the VP to provide strategic guidance across the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Programming, Marketing, Sales, Scheduling, and Strategy, to integrate research insights into business objectives.

Focus on Global FAST Channel Viewership

  • Forecast FAST viewership across territories, channels, partners, and measurement periods.
  • Proactively deliver data-driven recommendations to optimize FAST partner and channel viewership, leveraging marketing, scheduling, and programming solutions.
  • Develop and recommend methodologies for FAST reporting, rigorously validating findings to ensure data integrity.
  • Create FAST partner business review presentations.
  • Support the VP in crafting large-scale strategy decks, providing key insights and recommendations.

Oversee Data and Dashboard Management

  • Ensure the maintenance, accuracy, and availability of all critical Global FAST data sets, providing a foundation for informed decision-making.
  • Lead the curation of dashboard findings to meet the evolving need of A+E business requirements.
  • Liaise between partners, analysts, and the data team, driving the development of cross-platform FAST reporting solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

As the media industry grapples with fragmentation and disruption, a key facet of Research is to be the driving force in helping their company capture, report on, monetize, and understand audiences. An opportunity lies in Research to work across divisions and departments to create a unified language that ensures that internal clients understand—and take advantage of—complex metrics. The key is giving the necessary context so that decisions can be made. While this sounds disarmingly simple, it is a challenge to get the majority of the company to speak the same language and understand new vernacular. Research is a central force within the broader organization in gaining an objective perspective for a wide array of complex questions. It may sound academic – and certainly there is a portion of the job that requires a love of learning – but the primary attribute that will bring you success is curiosity. For example, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of what motivates someone to tune into a show, buy a product based on placement of an ad, become a fan on social media, or why certain types of programs are successful across regions of this country and abroad. Ultimately, each research candidate gets a better understanding of the rigor that goes into making business decisions by uncovering not boulders, but pebbles along the path to connecting to A+E Networks core asset, its content.

YOUR STORY: [+BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have)

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Media Studies, Communications, Statistics, Data Analysis).
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in television, research, or data analysis
  • Familiarity with the television and digital media industry, especially in the context of FAST.
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Tableau
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends and make insightful recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
