NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Manager, Content Programming based in our Concord, North Carolina office.
This person is responsible for leveraging NASCAR’s extensive portfolio of new original-content and historical video archives to program the NASCAR Channel (FAST). The manager will work to optimize consumption to help grow the emerging digital platform and manage the day-to-day functions of the channel.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Day-to-day scheduling operations of the NASCAR Channel (FAST), a 24/7 ecosystem, utilizing NASCAR’s extensive content portfolio.
- Manage the program scheduling system to input and communicate the live on-air schedule, ensuring all programs and partnership inventory air as scheduled, and overseeing VOD content options for the digital streaming platforms.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of NASCAR’s content inventory both historic and current programs.
- Contribute to the short-term and long-term strategic planning of the NASCAR Channel. Identify opportunities for programming stunts and initiatives and make specific recommendations that will increase viewing.
- Track the performance of the FAST channel programming, monitor industry-wide trends for emerging video content platforms, and use data to drive strategic scheduling decisions.
- Coordinate content delivery with producers and the library team, gather program descriptions, and manage an inventory list of available content.
- Collaborate with key internal groups on a cross-platform content strategy, specifications, and optimizations.
- Serve as a liaison and manage relationships with distribution partners including marketing and messaging.
- Create and maintain key business planning materials for the NASCAR Channel to provide quarterly and/or annual reports.
- Ensure the execution of any third-party content partnerships for the channel.
- Travel: 15% including evenings and weekends.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required skills / experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four (4) year college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of current experience in broadcast, cable, or digital programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in all Company-provided hardware and software.
- Knowledge of CRM software and reporting platforms.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, or other similar multimedia software suites is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a busy environment.
- Adept at editing or writing compelling titles and descriptions and creating engaging thumbnails for VOD content.
- Willing and able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and special events/instances.
- Strong broadcast, cable, or streaming platform acumen.
- Experience working across teams and with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in Sports media is a plus. Working knowledge of stockcar racing is preferred.
