The UX Content Design team makes sure customers always have the information they need, from the purchase flow, to the product, to transactional emails, to our chatbot. Our focus is not just to write the words that appear in the product, but to guide users with consistent content patterns that make our products intuitive and easy to use.

You will work within a global team responsible for understanding and defining customer needs, ideating, and designing comprehensive product solutions. This role requires a leader with a passion for building customer-focused products and experience with demonstrating the unique value Content Design brings to a product development team.

What you’ll be working on

  • Leading and mentoring a team of content designers, fostering their growth and unblocking any barriers to their success
  • Fostering close collaboration with design, engineering, marketing, and product leaders across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives
  • Carrying out operating procedures to ensure high standards for documentation, collaboration, and communication with partners
  • Organizing and leading team meetings and ceremonies, evolving them with the changing needs of the team
  • Giving and receiving feedback with compassion and clarity
  • Navigating resource constraints, balancing workloads, and prioritizing for highest impact
  • Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new team members
  • Maturing and evolving our team processes and developing a strategic vision for the future of Content Design at SurveyMonkey

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 6+ years as a Content Designer or UX writer, with 3+ years as a manager
  • Experience building relationships with and influencing other leaders, including across design, product, research, marketing, and engineering teams
  • Strong writing and editing skills, in particular making text shorter, friendlier, and easier to understand with specific reasoning behind each choice
  • Solid understanding of content design best practices, user research, information architecture, and design systems
  • Comfortable with tools such as Jira and Figma
  • Experience with seeking metrics and research to inform work and influence product strategy
  • Comfortable coaching direct reports in navigating ambiguity, problem-solving, managing multiple projects, and prioritization
  • A knack for giving and receiving feedback with clarity and empathy
  • Ability to work with partners across a distributed workforce, including occasional earlier or later meetings to accommodate team members in Europe and Asia

Sample of relevant work required. It should illustrate your experience creating UX content, influencing product strategy, and leading and maturing a Content Design team.
