We are looking for a Manager to join our Consumer Business Development team, which is responsible for Spotify's strategic distribution partnerships across a broad portfolio of consumer-facing platforms and services. The right candidate will bring partnerships to life day-to-day, ensuring our relationships are a win-win for the partner, the end user, and Spotify.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic partnerships, with a focus on audiobooks and media partners, serving as a trusted day-to-day partner contact
- Act as the primary point of contact for partners' needs, while executing long-term partner strategies that bring value to Spotify users around the world.
- Lead and support the negotiation of contractual agreements and operationalize those partnerships to ensure commitments are delivered across product, marketing, reporting, and integrations.
- Build deep relationships across partner organizations, from product and engineering to business, marketing, and content, interfacing regularly with global teams.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define and support distribution strategies and integrations across partner surfaces and platforms.
- Coordinate cross-functionally internally with Legal, Licensing, Product, Technology, Marketing, Content, and Premium teams to drive partnerships forward.
- Source, evaluate, and develop new partnership opportunities, with a focus on expanding Spotify’s audiobooks ecosystem, while scaling existing relationships across media and emerging partner areas
- Navigate evolving partner ecosystems and translate strategy into scalable execution.
- Partner closely with internal leads to operationalize and scale initiatives across a defined portfolio
- Stay ahead of industry trends across audiobooks, publishing, and the broader media landscape, bringing an informed perspective to partnership opportunities and internal priorities
- Leverage data and AI tools to identify emerging partnership opportunities and scale decision-making across a diverse partner set
Who You Are
- You have a strong track record in business development and independently leading complex partnership negotiations.
- You are comfortable leveraging data and AI tools to inform partner strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and navigating evolving partner landscapes.
- You have experience identifying and building new partnership opportunities from early stages through scaling.
- You have experience in or strong interest in audiobooks, publishing, or audio content ecosystems is a plus
- You are deeply familiar with agreements and frameworks such as NDAs, licensing structures, and distribution deals.
- You are confident with contractual negotiations and operationalizing agreements that include both business and technical terms.
- You are organized, steady under pressure, and motivated by crafting solutions that work well for partners and users alike.
- Willing to frequently collaborate with stakeholders in the GMT timezone and flexible for periodic travel for client meetings, events and team collaboration
Where You'll Be
- This role is based in our New York office
- We offer flexibility so you can work where you work best. While some in-person meetings will take place, you will also have the option to work from home
The United States base range for this position is $143,511 to $205,015, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
