Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a high-performing Senior Consulting Analyst to join our Health, State and Local Sector. This role is designed for a strategy-oriented professional with experience at a leading management consulting firm such as McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), or Bain & Company, combined with a strong understanding of healthcare, public sector, and/or state and local government environments.


The Senior Consulting Analyst will work with senior Peraton leaders and government clients to address complex business and operational challenges, develop actionable strategies, and support the execution of transformational initiatives. The ideal candidate brings the structured problem-solving, analytical rigor, executive communication, and client-management capabilities developed in a top-tier consulting environment, along with a demonstrated interest in improving health and public-sector outcomes.


This is an opportunity to apply management consulting skills to high-impact engagements supporting federal, state, and local health and human services organizations.


Key Responsibilities to include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and support strategy, business transformation, and operational improvement initiatives for Health, State and Local clients.
  • Structure ambiguous and complex client problems into actionable workstreams, hypotheses, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and potential solutions.
  • Develop executive-level presentations, strategy documents, business cases, and client deliverables.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, concise recommendations for senior government and Peraton executives.
  • Support market, policy, organizational, operational, and financial analyses relevant to healthcare and public-sector programs.
  • Facilitate client working sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and executive discussions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams spanning strategy, technology, healthcare, data analytics, program management, and organizational transformation.
  • Support development of growth strategies, operating models, transformation roadmaps, and implementation plans.
  • Manage workstreams and deliver high-quality deliverables within demanding timelines.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and contribute to broader account and business-development activities.
  • Mentor junior analysts and consultants in structured problem solving, analytical methods, and executive communication.
  • Contribute to proposals, white papers, thought leadership, and new business development within Peraton's Health, State and Local portfolio.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications


  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, healthcare consulting, or public-sector consulting.
  • Prior experience at a leading management consulting firm such as McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain & Company, or a comparable strategy consulting organization.
  • Demonstrated experience solving complex, ambiguous business or organizational problems using structured analytical approaches.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in fast-paced, client-facing environments.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, if required for assigned programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • MBA or MPH required.
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or local health and human services agencies.
  • Experience with healthcare delivery, Medicaid, Medicare, public health, behavioral health, health equity, or social services.
  • Experience with state Medicaid agencies or other state/local health organizations.
  • Experience developing operating models, organizational strategies, transformation roadmaps, or implementation plans.
  • Experience with large-scale technology or business transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with government contracting and public-sector procurement environments.
  • Experience supporting proposal development, capture, or client business development.

Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
