As a Manager of Compliance Testing and Assurance on the Compliance Testing and Assurance team, you'll help build and run the independent oversight program that tests whether Coinbase's compliance controls are designed and operating effectively across US and international entities.
This team plans and executes testing and monitoring activities enterprise-wide, partnering with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, and business functions to strengthen Coinbase's compliance framework. You'll own the execution of risk-based testing cycles, deliver clear reporting to senior leadership, and drive continuous improvement of CTA methodologies and governance.
What you’ll do:
- Own the end-to-end execution of assigned CTA activities, from planning and fieldwork through reporting and issue remediation, escalating findings as needed.
- Build and enhance enterprise-wide CTA program methodologies, governance documents, and testing frameworks in partnership with the Head of CTA.
- Drive the development of the risk-based annual CTA plan in collaboration with Compliance staff across International, Institutional, Product, Tools, and AML/CFT teams.
- Deliver periodic reporting on CTA plan progress, testing results, root cause analyses, and remediation status to senior compliance leadership.
- Lead issue tracking and remediation validation, ensuring issue owners implement corrective actions and maintaining all documentation in a central repository.
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to identify emerging risks impacting Coinbase products and the CTA program.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience executing compliance testing, monitoring, assurance, or audit programs within financial services, including hands-on development of testing plans and risk-based methodologies.
- Track record of identifying uncontrolled risks and control gaps across a global regulatory landscape, including AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, and trade surveillance.
- Demonstrated success delivering testing outcomes on schedule and to quality standards, including producing executive-ready reports, metrics, and remediation tracking.
- Experience using data extraction and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Snowflake) and proficiency in presentation and spreadsheet tools (e.g., Google Slides, Google Sheets).
- BA/BS degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
