Manager, Communication & Spectator Services (EVS):

Event Visitor Services (EVS) is the functional area, within the Organizing Committee for the LA28 Summer Games (Olympics and Paralympics), that oversees the planning, design, and provision of safe and welcoming visits to all ticketed events at official competition venues, as well as other services for accredited stakeholders.  

The EVS Communication & Spectator Services Manager is a dynamic and organized communications professional responsible for managing the messaging of all relevant information to spectators and volunteers attending the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games ensuring a memorable experience for all. 

This role is integral to ensuring the smooth delivery of the Event Visitor Services workforce and venue operations by delivering clear, precise and appropriate messaging to spectators, staff and all relevant stakeholders. This manager is a key member of the EVS Central Management Team providing venue support and ensuring staff readiness. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement the spectator communication project plan 
  • Collaborate with the Organizational Communications Functional Area to ensure that all spectator communications align with the organizational framework 
  • Ensure a clear communication strategy is in place in relation to EVS activities in the venues 
  • Manage resources to ensure the efficient and high-quality delivery of EVS communication items to the relevant target groups 
  • Plan and create content for:  
    • Spectator Guides 
    • Venue Spectator PA Announcements 
    • EVS volunteer communications 
    • Signage  
  • Manage and develop effective and compelling content including video, text, publications and other media formats 
  • Coordinate the printing and publication of communication items 
  • Coordinate the usage of EVS internal resources 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Background & Requirements:
  • 7+ years experience working in an international sports and/or media organization. 
  • Proven experience creating and implementing engaging and compelling communication and media strategies for major sporting events.  
  • Knowledge of local culture is a plus 
  • The following strengths: high energy levels, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective negotiation skills, excellent communication skills and positive relationship-management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication or related field required   
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office. 
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.   
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.   
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.  
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.  

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000-$105,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
