Commercial Technologies Software Engineering develops design options, process improvements and back-end solutions for commercial technologies to maximize performance and suitability for business needs. This job family manages engineering projects and plans for commercial technologies and interfaces with product managers to develop objectives. This job family assesses product systems, identifies opportunities for process and system improvements, and develops solutions through application of engineering principles.

Responsibilities

  • Manages team of Technical Leads and Solution Architects
  • Develop, document, and implement development standards, procedures, and policies for software development organization
  • Identify, recommend, and implement tools for software development and testing
  • Solution Owner for technical solutions that have organizational impact
  • Intake for innovation opportunities and new initiative viability research (POCs)
  • Lead IT Assessment Evaluations for current and prospect customers
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure the team is producing a solution that meets established standards, procedures and practices
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to aggressively address issues, risks and mitigation plans
  • Ensures that software development teams have the resources in place that they need to deliver software solutions
  • Proactively identifies and removes blockers, limits work in progress and prevents distractions
  • Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
  • Ensures employees operate within guidelines
  • Decisions have a short term impact on work processes, outcomes and customers
  • Interacts with subordinates, peers, customers, and suppliers at various management levels; may interact with senior management
  • Interactions normally involve resolution of issues related to operations and/or projects
  • Gains consensus from various parties involved

Anticipated salary range: $123,400 - $176,300
